My Big Fat Fabulous Life : Buddy

Buddy

He seems like he's dying with all the sleeping and heavy breathing he does. He's looking pretty bad.

Re: Buddy

He needs to lose weight, but he does not seem motivated.

Re: Buddy

I actually worry more about him than Whitney. He doesn't seem well at all. And working in a bar doesn't seem to foster a healthy environment for him. At least that is what I think.

Re: Buddy

Yeah. The last episode I was like uh, is he dying? His breathing is so labored. Even though Whitney is heavier, he seems way more unhealthy. Maybe he drinks a lot as his job and gets only two hours of sleep. Also doesn't he have a bedroom? Why is he sleeping on the couch all the time?

Re: Buddy

My guess is he probably watches TV and then just falls asleep on the couch. I don't get why he drinks at his job? I guess bartenders do that but it's weird to me.

I like Buddy a lot, he cracks me up. But it's definitely time to get in shape. That hot yoga thing was not good for someone his size, what a stupid idea. All he has to do is go walking for like an hour a day and that will help a lot.

Re: Buddy

I agree. I'm not overweight but I don't exercise. If someone took me to damn hot yoga as a reintroduction into working out after being a sloth for a while, I'd be annoyed. I'd be like couldn't we have just gone to the gym and done some ellipticals or something? lol. But of course they wanted drama for the TV. And yoga is hard if you don't do it often, so they were obviously going for making him struggle. I did yoga onceas a skinny teenager, not the lethargic blob I am nowand even still, I was like wtf this is torture *falls over during pigeon pose*

I had another thought, maybe Whitney's renovating his room so he has to sleep outsidehaha

Re: Buddy

The Buddy goes to yoga episode was SO staged for the show!

I like hot yoga. That being said, that class that Buddy was dragged to was ridiculous! Everyone was squished together in the room. It was too fast-paced. The teacher didn't help him much or make adjustments to his technique or offer encouraging words and instructions for a first-timer. (except take child's posehey I didn't even know what that WAS when I started)

The heat is definitely not for most beginners! I once took a neighbor and she had to run from the room to barf. Buddy had a hangover or was sleep deprived. He needs a doctor to OK his exercise except for maybe a good walk! (Yeah, I get it, that would open a big can of worms of testing and does he even have health insurance?)

And to top it all off, hot yoga actually doesn't burn that many calories despite all that sweat it's more like a body-mind-spirit-stretchy workout.

Buddy looks like he's going to have a heart attack or stroke any minute and yes, seems depressed.

Off topic: I find these message boards more fun than the shows. Can't say anything even perceptibly not nice ANYWHERE anymore. Brave new flippin' world.

Re: Buddy

Lol @ squid! I've practiced yoga off n on for yearsthe pidgeon is no joke ,I felt like a rubber band !

Re: Buddy

There's plenty of beginner men's fitness classes he could have gone too. Yoga is pretty hard, especially if you're over-weight and adding hot yoga to that is a horrible introduction to fitness. If he really wanted to help he'd take him to a gym and introduce Buddy to some workout machines, how to use them, adjust them etc. then let Buddy set his own pace at first to get used to it. Yes I know they did it for the show, but instead of Buddy falling down a lot and making comic relief instead it just looked sad and he looked pissed.

Re: Buddy

WowI'm watching him now in hot yoga, and he doesn't look good. I like Buddy, he seems like a nice guy, but he needs to slim down a little.

Re: Buddy

I think Buddy is a very good looking guy and he seems like a nice guy, too. But he also seems depressed. There's an underlying sadness about him. And it's definitely not manufactured for the show.

So, I genuinely worry about him.
