Man Seeking Woman : Cancellation Is A Cert!

Cancellation Is A Cert!

Well lets face the facts only 145 votes and a constant drop in the average rating (6.9 at the moment it was over 8 yesterday)

I am sure if you are here and reading this you loved the show and its dark-twisted humourNo matter how great or crap every show has its own fans but unfortunately fans of this show will be disappointed after its cancelled and it seems to happen soon

This is not the sort of comedy that people are used to and you know it better people always have hard times adjusting the change

This show could be a breakthrough in comedy but not in 2015

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Dark humor is intelligent.

This reminds me of a throw away Kids in the Hall sketch, sans the humor.

Troll much?

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

I disagree with the guy, but not everyone who doesn't share your preferences is a troll.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Well, it'll likely air in full. That's something.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

I made it about 2/3rds of the way through the premier. Man, it was bad! Good actors doing some weird experimental comedy. I could see it working as an SNL skit, in small doses. But for a half hour?

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Or, really just 22 minutes, which isn't nearly as long as you're making it sound.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Hilarious comedywith a lot of surreal activity going on. Both the male stars are excellent in their roles. Storylines are inventive. If you don't like it, don't watchjust keep your *beep* idiotic comments to yourself.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Seems to me that FX shows normally get a better chance than than Fox network shows do. Because many people don't even have access to the channel, or know what airs on it even if they do, it's harder to judge.
Were the ratings for shows like You're the Worst and Married any better? I don't believe they were and they've been renewed for a second season.
Come to think of it, has It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, or even Louie ever had what would be considered good ratings?
I'm pretty sure I recall rumblings from the internet of Louie being cancelled after season 2 because ratings were awful, yet here it is with season 5 coming up and still not very good ratings.
So I'm going to say that either you don't really know what you're talking about, or else you're just a troll. Good luck to you in life in either of those cases.

It got renewed for a second season

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

But the OP said it's cancellation was a cert! A CERT!

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

If it's anything like the rest of the shows FX(X) demolish, they will let it air for 2-3 years before simply unceremoniously cancelling it. I don't understand why they even bother airing new content on FXX at all, considering none of it will be seen.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

IMDb ratings are probably the most meaningless barometer to gauge popularity. You have to consider that some people don't even bother to rate shows/movies (I usually don't), and most people watching on television probably aren't even on IMDb.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

it was good in some aspects, overall it starting feel typical even with it's absurdities.

Not a lot of laugh of loud moments, and sometimes the show didn't feel believable because Josh is constantly striking out in a overly depressing manner. I do enjoy dark humor, but it doesn't have to rigidly follow that profile at every turn. The twist is the absurd scenarios in each episode but are they effective at all? Hardly.

I really wanted to love this show, but even after watching all through it's 1st season it just isn't a well-rounded or even extremely entertaining show. I would be surprised if it got picked up for a 2nd season.

Aside from how I feel, I think they made a poor choice putting yet another comedy show airing on Wednesday nights, they could've picked a better day for ratings. A lot of people I talked to hadn't even seen the show because they're watching Workaholics and Broad City at the same air time.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

I hope it sticks around, as there were some funny moments, eg. War room re: text ("traib" "j/k") and Tanaka! The "explanation" as to why a hot girl would date such a loser was also funny. The reverse-episode, where brother and sister switch (Woman seeking Man) was poignant.

The show is fun, but not mindless fun.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Right jackvoice and those who had doubts about MSW are about to eat some serious crow. This show is so over the top, I believe it is going to be around for quite a while. Just wait and see.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

absolutely, i hope it is im so intrigued by it. like nothing else on tv if nothing else. Jay Baruchel (main character cant spell his name) is about to direct Goon 2. if you have not seen the movie Goon, do yourself a favor and watch

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

I thought tonight's ep was pretty good. I hadn't planned on watching but I kept it on after Always Sunny and it was surprisingly good. I like the meta physical concept, as long as the writing stays good it will stay on.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Just came here to say it got renewed for season 3!

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

Excellent news! Brilliantly funny show.

You posted this on Jan 15th, 2015.
The show debuted on Jan 14th, 2015.

Shouldn't you wait more than a day to declare that "cancellation is a cert!"?

Let's see, it's a year and a half later and the show now has a 7.6 rating on 5559 votes. And I just read that it got renewed for a THIRD season. I don't think you could have been more wrong. It's like you were trying to set the record for being the most wrong.

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

And I just watched the Season 3 premier and it was AWESOME! ROFL Love this show!

Re: Cancellation Is A Cert!

I think it's hysterical, so funny!
