Six : Acting: Horrible..Dialogue:Pr edictable..Story: Blah

Seriously? Could this be anymore of a cliche "gung-ho soldier", go go USA, Ooh Rah BULLS*#T??!! (Not that there's anything wrong with being gung-ho USA, or being a devoted marine. Just saying they are over the top with it, to where it's not believable) The acting is horrible, the story is blah, the dialogue is predictable. There is so much over acting, and just BAD acting, that it's ridiculous. Especially by "Bear", and "Ortiz". Why is this crap on the history channel?? Seriously?! This show is just a waste of time. And that scene with "Bear" and his wife, about having a new baby? Really? They're sitting there, discussing having another child, after losing their daughter Sarah the year before, and the conversation has all the emotion of an infomercial. Ortiz's wife is probably the worst actor I've seen in the show so far. The main problem with this show is that to me, they seem like they're TRYING so hard to be like other actual GOOD shows and movies about the same subject matter. But they just can't pull it off. And it's borderline embarrassing watching them try.

Oh, and the commercials for it, where they're all standing there, saying how bad a*s they are, are SO dumb and cliche. We get it, you're an elite fighting force. You're SEALS. Can you drive it down our throats anymore??

I agree. I'm in the military myself and find this so easy to pick apart in it's level of unrealistic portrayals and over-the-top stereotypes.

To be honest, as much as I respect the SF community and the level of skill they have, I find stories that follow regular "joes" much more interestingthat's why I enjoyed Generation Kill so much, it was actually pretty spot on and it followed a group of regular soldiersnone of this "elite" stuff we keep getting thrown at us.

I'd love to see a contemporary (what I mean is, harnessing that drama of a pretty regular group of soldiers but during one of the more recent conflicts) version of Band Of Brothers.

I asked an RKI (reasonably knowlegable individual) buddy of mine what he knew of the show and his response was:

"Other than it is very bad, not "inspired" by any actual missions, and the Navy, SEAL Teams, and "Six" don't want any possible connection with it, no, not a lot."

So, it sounds like a show for people who play a lot of video games, but not for anyone who has actually shot a real gun.

And after Vice Principals (yeck!), Goggins stock must be plummeting in Hollyweird.

I agree. Many of the same people who are showing hate keep coming back to to post more. I don't get that. I might see a show I don't like and comment once to that effect, but I wouldn't keep coming back to boards of shows I don't like to keep posting hate about them. I talk on boards of shows I like. My only reasoning is that these poor souls must have no life.
