The Lego Batman Movie : Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Billy dee Williams was supposed to play two-face in Batman Forever because he played Harvey dent in both the 1989 film and Batman Returns. They replaced him with Tommy Lee Jones to have a white actor and be closer to the comics. I can only imagine that having a black two-face in this is a nod to him

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

WRONG!!! Billy Dee wasn't even in Batman Returns and wasn't even mentioned. The only reason Billy Dee Williams wasnt in Batman Forever was that he was going to be getting paid for the movie, because his contract was rumored to guarantee him the chance to play Two-Face. However, Billy Dee debunked that rumor.

You only get paid if you do the movie, said Billy Dee. I had a two picture deal with Star Wars. They paid me for that. But I only had a one picture deal for Batman 89 and that was it. So in other words he didn't do a 2 picture deal for batman like he did with star wars. But kudos to him to play a role that he didn't make a deal out of it.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

My bad. It's been a while since I saw it. I remembered seeing him in the first one and thought he was in the second too. Honest mistake

But still, they could have made another contract with him to reprise his role. It's kind of a dick move to recast his character without asking him first. You could say "well, they recast Batman" but that was because Michael Keaton left the role due to being uninterested, not because they didn't invite him back.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Dude go check the cast listing again! They just added Billy dee as two-face in the casting list

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Well FYI: The 1989-1997 franchise had a lot of missed opportunities when it came to Two-Face, he was barely in the first movie, he wasn't in the second movie at all, and in the third he was a Joker knock off. I think a 3 movie character arc for Two-Face would work well had Tim Burton taken an actual interest in the character instead of what we got already. That was my main Problem. You see Daniel Waters, one of the writers for Batman Returns, wanted to have Harvey Dent played again by Billy Dee Williams start to come back, and just have one scene of him where he flips a coin and it's the good side of the coin. Waters thought it was only to be a very small subplot, which would have developed into the next movie. Alas, Tim Burton didn't want Billy Dee to continue with the role once he got into Batman Returns and replaced his character with Christopher Walkens evil business character instead whether this is true or not, I don't know.

As for mike Keaton, last I heard joel shumacher didn't want Keaton so he got Val Kilmer instead and we all know it didn't turn out well for both parties since Val And Tommy Lee Jones were awful actors on set by giving The director a hard time.

As for the casting list for this lego batman movie, i already seen it and i don't care much for it since it's a parody, not a serious film.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Val Kilmer is notorious for being a nightmare to work with.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Yep, it's why we don't hear much about him or see him in any movies lately.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

I love that it will be Billy Dee Williams voicing him, but the design is a bit off. In this picture his scarred half is just a bit melty with some patches of exposed skull. not quite the two halves look we are used to.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Well I've seen a lot of fan made pictures of Billy Dee as Two-Face that are better then this lego version but i agree that it's not quite the two halves look we are used to. Even lego Two-Face is better then Billy Dee's lego version. What the hell where they thinking? Couldn't they just use a normal looking lego Two-Face and have Billy Dee voice that instead of making one based on the actor?

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Well neither do i but i still think they should have just use a normal looking lego Two-Face and have Billy Dee voice that instead.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

I was gonna come here to ask what's with the unnecessary race lift in an Animated film for the Gordons But I can be behind Harvey Dee Williams.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

What Animated film for the Gordons?

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

Originally people were complaining about the fact Rosario Dawson was voicing Batgirl, and the fact that Batgirl isn't black My argument was, it's an animated movie, people voice characters that don't match their skin colours all the time

Then it turns out, yes, they did make Barbra and Jim Gordon black in this movie, for seemingly no real reason

But then they made Two-Face black, which is a reference to the Burton movies So, whateves.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

People complaining about the fact Rosario Dawson is voicing Batgirl, and the fact that Batgirl isn't black? Oh please Kimberly Brooks who happens to be black voiced Barbara Gordon/Oracle in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City games and no one made a big stink on that. As for Billy Dee's Two-Face, I've seen a lot of fan made pictures of Billy Dee as Two-Face that are better then this lego version. I don't like the style they used for the scarred half and it's not quite the two halves look we are used to. It's like a kid who never took an art appreciation class designed the character. I just wish they used a normal Lego Two-Face and have Billy Dee voice that instead of making one based on the actor.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

I have to agree, aside from Batman himself, the redesigns for most of the characters are pretty bad. Joker's Shark teeth really distract me Why didn't they use the other Lego Joker design people have gotten use too?

And I guess instead of a Luchador, Bane is going to be Tom Hardy from now on.

Re: Hell yeah, Two-Face *is* black

I agree, i mean why does Joker have Shark teeth in the 1st place? He's not Warren White aka The Great White Shark or simply Great White. Do these people know anything about the Batman Characters?
