Rings : Someone witnesses

This has been bugging me and this concerns all of the films. We know that if someone watches the tape, but then 7 days later, if that person has company on the seventh day at the same time, but their company hasn't watched the tape. When Samara goes after the person who has watched the tape, will Samara also go after the person's company as well, like even if they witness what happened or will Samara only hunt down the people who has watched the tape?

Yes, no witnesses.

She only goes after the person that watched the tape, as evidenced by Becca (with Katie in The Ring though we're not sure if she was in the room), and Emily (in the room with Jake in The Ring Two). The people are left traumatized but not dead. This is a bit like what happened with Julia tooSamara didn't kill her, she just opened the door. In the case of the plane, she only went after the guy that watched the tape (maybe the girl too) and the plane crash was just collateral damage.
