Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Diamonds are Forever. it was the first one that came out when I was old enough to go and see it without being accompanied by an adult (i didn't know any adults who liked james Bond).

The World Is Not Enough

I forget the title but it had a powerful weapon that cost a million to use and after some lurking in darkened doorways and crouching on rooftops it came to a glittering end.

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
I saw the best scene in The Living Daylights (frozen lake chase) at a drive-in theater but first full Bond movies was Goldeneye.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Goldeneye
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
For me it was Die Another day as well.
Its a little weird to start with the last film of an actor isn't it?

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Casino Royale in 2006, and it got a standing ovation. At least, from me.

Diamonds Are Forever (1971). My father took me to see it, I was 8 years old. We'd arrived a little late and missed the opening credits but in those days showings were continuous so we stayed for the beginning. When Shirley Bassey had sung the last note of the theme song Dad turned to me and asked if I wanted to watch it again, so we did.

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
OHMSS. I was 7, and my parents were Bond (and cinema) fans. We didn't have a TV.
I don't think I understood it as part of a series though, and it disappeared for years after that so, although it has long been a favourite, it took me a little while to really integrate it into the series.
I was getting into the re-releases around, or just after, DAF, which I also saw in its first few days of release, but Live and Let Die was the first I looked forward to as a fan.
Three different Bond's for my first three (new) films was an interesting experience!

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Probably Moonraker, but maybe For Your Eyes Only. Octopussy was the first one I distinctly remember seeing. My Dad was a huge Bond fan back then, so he took us as soon as he could. I know Moonraker is widely hated, but if you were 5 or 6 at the time, high off of Star Wars, it was pretty incredible.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Spectre. I don't go to the movies much. This was the first time I actually wanted to watch a Bond film in the cinema. I picked the right one!
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Casino Royale

I'm showing my age here, but unfortunately it was Quantum of Solace.

What's wrong with that? This board really needs fresh blood. Young, unspoiled Bond fans appreciating the recent movies. Not just the old guys over, uhm, forty like me still revelling in first watching GOLDFINGER in the sixties, or the guy in the wheelchair and still wearing a straightjacket over there, I think he calls himself "Bapster" or something
Also, it's good to have you here in spite of QOS being your first Bond film. Some people on this board cannot imagine anyone being interested in Bond after watching that movie first. Welcome!

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
The thread topic is "first Bond film at the cinema", not necessarily first Bond film ever seen. For example, although I didn't see a Bond film at the cinema until 2006, I'd been watching Bond for several years before that.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
haha Oh, that's just my cynical nature talking. Admittedly, I had only seen the Pierce Brosnan entries and Casino Royale up to that point. It shocked me more because I loathed it more than Die Another Day, something I could never have imagined i'd utter.

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Casino Royale on December 31, 2006. I was 14 years old when I watched it.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Goldeneye. From the breathtaking bungee jump, I was hooked. To this day I still hold Goldeneye in high regard and enjoy revisiting it immensely.

I think Octopussy. I remember watching and loving Moonraker on TV, and I remember my father and brother seeing For Your Eyes Only in the theater, but I don't think I went with them.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Dr. No

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Goldfinger on a Re-release in '69. But just glimpses of memory bits from such a young age of 5. LALD was my first Bond in a one screen palace that I mostly comprehended what was going on. Best crowd for any Bond film in memory! Luckily, all films up to TMWTGG Re-released here in the states in a film festival in '75.

The best Brosnan movie in the series (well, not that that's an accomplishment lol)
I'm just on my way up to Clavius.

Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
Goldeneye. Although I could have easily seen a Roger Moore 007 film at the cinema but his later ones werent that good, and at the time I wasnt interested in the Dalton movies either.
Re: What was the first Bond film you saw at the cinema?
The year was 1978 and I was 15, so I and my pals were allowed to go to "15Rated" movies. As a festival in a small and crappy porn theatre in my hometown, they showed all first nine, Dr No - Golden Gun. I have no idea which the first Bondfilm I saw was because they ran them without order, but it was a ConneryBond. I tried to watch the first ones first, but who knows? The sixties was already gone, but I still had my spy attachée suitcase (toy from From Russia) and the Austin Martin toy car from GF.
After that we were so hooked that we wished there was a way to collect these films. A couple of months later we watched Moore´s The Spy Who Loved Me 3 times, and only one year later, the VHS VCR was introduced here in Sweden, so I could soon go and rent the Bondfilms and copy them. My wishing dream was about to be fulfilled!
I guess, what I wanted to say is, that I am very grateful for being introduced to Bond this way. Not having to watch later, failed attempts. But the originals right from the start! Bless ya, Bond!
