Teen Mom OG : Ran it's course
Re: Ran it's course
Agree 100 %. The shows have becone a mockery of what it stood for.
The show is about plastic surgeries; drug use, drinking while pregnant, numerous arrests,'cashcow' babies, nasty custody battles, spoiled girls, lack of education and fighting on stage. And I haven't even mentioned the massive ego of the cast yet..
None of them deserve the sweet MTV money and fame anymore.

Re: Ran it's course
I've missed over half this season, having caught the most recent five episodes just in the past week. I never missed episodes completely before. Nevertheless, I have commented a few times over the last couple of years that this franchise really should end. I firmly believe that at this point.
I agree that it's "soap opera" status and not about young parents struggling to raise babies and young children while working hard to live a productive life. It's certainly not sending the message of prevention either. It is definitely time to fold up its tents.

Re: Ran it's course
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Re: Ran it's course
I think it's entertaining. Same with teen mom 2. Barb is hilarious. I do believe it is very Jerry Springer.
Re: Ran it's course
I do agree that the initial intention of preventing teen pregnancy is so lost. It ended with 16 and pregnant. That show was the deterrent. Teen Mom does the opposite. It shows girls they can make it as long as they are on TV. They can even do drugs and lay around all day.
Re: Ran it's course
Don't forget about them rushing into relationships and having kids With people they met within less of a year.
Re: Ran it's course
Did anybody ever see the Dr. Phil episode about the teen girl who wanted to get pregnant to keep her boyfriend? Her whole plan was to get on Teen Mom so they could make money and get married. It's sad that this show is serving as an inspiration instead of a deterrent.
Re: Ran it's course
I agree. I'm starting to have serious concerns for the kids they're old enough to start becoming their "own persons" and this show is only going to make being a kid harder than it already is. My family had its problems but nowhere near on the scale that these do still, I would have died a thousand deaths at school if my home life had been splashed all over the television for all to see. I hope they pull the plug for the sake of the kids.
Re: Ran it's course
I agree. It's time to hang it up.
Re: Ran it's course
The Teen Mom 2 girls seem to have more going on. Chelsea seems to be the only one who is aware that her life doesn't really belong on camera anymore. If we still wanted some sort of entertainment I would just condense the show to:
Farrah - she's horrible but she's actually doing something.
Leah - To see the progress with her daughter.
Kaitlyn - She actually kind of does something with her life too. She's growing.
Jenelle - just because she's a nut.
Everyone else is pretty stagnant.

Ran it's course
When two of the cast members are having fist fights, and other cast members trying to also get into the fight, it is time for a show to be cancelled.
This has not been about preventing teen pregnancy in a long time. It is a soap opera, at best. And a trashy one at that.
It has completely ran it course. All it has become is a joke.
