The Middle : Axel is a creep

What did they do to that man's character? I guess they're trying to portray the overconfidence of early 20's but yikes the way he talks to Sue's roommate is straight up harassment. It wasn't funny the first 3 times yet they keep having him go after that girl like a predator from a SVU episode. They have ran out of storyline for his character and honestly all the other ones as well so now the writers are just turning the cast into weirdos(Axel) and habitual liars(Sue). What next, Brick is a klepto and Frankie likes to start fires? Oh and maybe Mike has a secret family and a body under the house. Smh just let this show die.

Trouble is, you don't want to go around on this board criticizing any of the characters, especially Axl and Frankie. There are defenders here who love them to pieces and will go down in flames trying to make you look like a disillusioned hater of all things decent.

Watch out especially for those posters who never post anywhere else but on The Middle board. That's a pretty good sign of a fanatical "fan." Chrismireya comes immediately to mind.

I turned off him in about season 5. This was when I saw how badly he treated Sue (and yes Sue is super annoying). He is always at home when he should be at college, yet has the nerve to constantly dis his parents (whether they deserve it or not is beside the point).

Except in screwball comedies, the woman was usually a madcap heiress and the man was either a stuffy professor, a reporter, a scientist, or someone with a high-powered position. In Axl's case, he's a loser with nothing to offer. And usually, in the 40s screwball comedies, it's the woman who's the pursuer, not the man. And there's usually some sort of slapstick involved, with a lot of laffs.

I didn't encounter many laffs last night in the situation with Lexi and Axl. Instead, I got a definite creepy vibethat she was actually turned on by his narcissistic attitude and demeanor. I hope she's smarter than that.

You must really live a pretty frightening life if you consider that anywhere remotely near harassment. Particularly of the over-the-top level of SVU. It's a funny, running joke because it was clear, up until last night, that she never expressed any interest in Axl. If it offends or scares you so much you don't have to watch. Simple. People that understand how humor works can continue to enjoy the show without having SJW flags flying all over the place.
