12 Monkeys : Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
because they don't give a crap about the people who use their siteI wasn't asked my opinion, were you?
Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
^^^ This! Hit the nail right on the head. They don't give a crap about their users - the very people who made this site what it is today. Some people have come up with a few alternate sites to go to now. I used to frequent TV.com until I found IMDb. There used to be discussions there but I'm not sure what their format is like now. Think I'll check it out & report back. But the OP is right about "the vast majority of users". There are a lot more of US than there are of trolls & troublemakers. It's a damned disgrace, is what it is. A damned disgrace.
Okay, checked it out. They do have discussion boards for each show & episode and for movies. Not sure it's comparable to IMDb, but it's something. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE DOING THIS TO US!!!!
Right. I'm back from Pissed OffLand. Crap.

Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
the solutions to trolls & troublemakers is the Ignore function, clears the boards right up
Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
No idea! There really isn't a similar site to this one. Maybe YouTube, but the amount of trolls and idiots probably quadruple this site. Not that this site is heavily moderated, but YouTube has none at all.

Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
I guess Reddit will be an option, but that message board seemed kind of confusing with too much all over the page. Also doesn't look like it gets anywhere near the daily traffic this site gets and can actually handle.
Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
Yeah. The main problem with reddit is that the UI sucks. But I think there are fewer trolls.

I hang out at http://forums.previously.tv
Since they're shutting down here, I'm tempted to post ban-worthy stuff.
But there are enough lunatics doing that already, and it's just not a pretty look.

Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
Something new will spring up. I will miss IMDB though. The lack of mod internet police was refreshing. No more free speech here, sadly.
Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
I'm so sad. Been posting on these boards for about 10 years and now they're yanking them out from under me/us.

Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
I saw this on the boards for another show. Thought I'd post it here for those who are interested.

Here's another option:
TheMovieDB.org (TMDb) has forums for all
shows, movies, and people in its database.
Here's their 12 Monkeys page:
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/60948-12-monkeys
and here's their board for this show:
https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/60948-12-monkeys/discuss
(Note: Use the top "General" section for discussions about the show.
That section is empty up to now, but it is open for new posts.)
Recent posts from other TMDb boards can be seen here:

Re: Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
IMDB will reverse this policy eventually because of loss of traffic. They don't care about the people, but they most assuredly care about "traffic". While I doubt the boards account for the majority of traffic almost everyone who comes here does so knowing they can check the boards, and they do so from time to time. With the boards gone their visits will be drastically reduced, even if they were not hitting the boards every time. IMDB will lose traffic. Advertisers will demand lower rates. Advertising dollars will shrink. Suits will panic and piss down their skinny legs and then they will be screaming at underlings about "Whose idea was it to close the boards!!!?>?!?!?!"
It'll take a year or two, though, and by then people will have found other places to frequent. Old habits broken and new habits formed and IMDB will probably never fully recover their traffic. Sad, considering all they actually had to do was put in place a basic mod staff from the free ranks of their own users. Oh well.

Oh, no! Where will we discuss S3?
Listen, I know we've got trolls, and haters, and whatever. But what about all of us who genuinely enjoy the show(s) and enjoy coming here to discuss with others? How can TPTB think that the boards "no longer providing a positive, useful experience for the vast majority"? Who do they count as "the vast majority" anyway?
