No Tomorrow : Show shot in Vancouver but takes place 2 1/2 hrs away in Seattle

It really bothers me that this show can easily be filmed in a Seattle. They did the same thing with the US version of The Killing, Fifty Shades of Grey, The Ring 1 and 2, The Twilighth Movies for Washington State. I know Vancouver is considered Hollywood North and they did have major tax breaks for filming and every tv show and tons of movies that are supposed to take place in the US and major cities are either filmed in Vancouver, Toronto or Quebec. They always shoot exterior cut in shots of Seattle like the pace needle, Pikes Market, etc but it's a beautiful city to shoot in just as is Vancouver and would make the film/tv community grow jobs here. They film Z-Nation in Washington State as well filmed most of Seattle centric movies like Say Anything, Singles, Fear, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, 10 Things I hate about You which was both in Seattle/Tacoma, Indi Filmaker Lynne Shelton's films and ofcourse the original Twin Peaks series was filmed in the Snoqualmie Falls region (40 mins away from Seattle). If they were able to film
the tv series Grimm in Portland, OR and Portlandia in actual Portland, I don't understand why more isn't actually shot here? With all
Of the VFX houses in Vancouver, BC that is so short a distance to get cheaper vfx done if needed. Also, Seattle, Bellevue and Redmond, WA are tech company and gaming company mavens. Why Amazon has their movie/tv studios in LA and not in its foundation tech city Seattle baffles me!

Actually, No Tomorrow is filmed in Los Angeles. So if they actually were filming in Vancouver that would be a huge improvement.

The Pilot was filmed in Los Angeles. The rest of episodes are being filmed basically to save money, I guess.

Oh, you're right, I'm an idiot. I was still thinking about the pilot episode that absolutely reeked of Los Angeles, didn't realize they moved production to Vancouver after that.

Reminds me of Hart Of Dixie that was set in Mobile, Alabama. They filmed the pilot there but the remaining episodes were filmed in greater Los Angeles on a set causing it to lose its authenticity about a show based in Southern Alabama.

I agree with the OP that it gets old when they say it's filmed in one place but it's actually filmed in another. In the pilot you can clearly see palm trees which don't grow in Washington. Imo they should have just set the series in Canada. I knew that Tori Anderson was Canadian the moment she said "about." Definitely a cutie though and glad to have her in this series. Otherwise it would be unwatchable I think.

It's all about production cost. Supergirl moved from LA to Vancouver to cut cost.

Seems like a small detail to drive a person crazy. They hardly mention where they are. So grow up.
