Hidden Figures : This movie was honestly so good!

Great, uplifting movie. Great for kids too. People of all genders/races could enjoy it. Also for once I wasn't annoyed by the romantic subplot haha. Won't go into too much detail but the only thing I wish is that they followed Janelle Monae's character more. I found her subplot very interesting but she wasn't in it that much. The ensemble cast was really good with the personal exception of Jim Parson's. I didn't really care for his character or his portrayal that much. The 3 main ladies were great, And Kevin Costner, Kristen Dunst were great. Also Mahershala Ali from Moonlight and Luke Cage had a great role.

Oh I forgot Glenn Powell was great as the recently passed John Glenn as well.

Obviously this isn't some deep analytical movie that tries to explore the system of racism or sexism in the workplace in the 50's but it's a film I think that the whole family could go and just enjoy and not feel sad after which sometimes you need. It does a great job of honouring the 3 women's contributions to NASA and the space race over all while illustrating some of the struggles they faced. Definitely good for little girls interested in math and science as well.

It was awesome! Extremely empowering and upliftimg. It's amazing though not shocking how much centering black female excellence will bring the racists and the "I'm not racist but" folks out in droves. I too have blocked many. So many that I couldn't read the negative responses to your post bc I'd already blocked them. Lol

The film has an 89 percent fan rating and like a 95 percent critic review.

These guys are going to hate anything with a positive portrayal of blacks in it. Ignore them and go see the movie if it interests you.

As for the "fake" or rewriting history portion, that's a fair and legit question.
Hollywood does have the tendency to exaggerate and invent details of a true story or historical events to the point of fiction. These three women were not the only ones who helped with the calculations yet Fox and the filmmakers are pushing it as these three solely got it done and in the book, many others were credited with the work.
