Collateral Beauty : I Won't Pay for Extreme Sadness but Claim Your Oscar

I Won't Pay for Extreme Sadness but Claim Your Oscar

First, there are plenty of talented attractive African-American actresses that can handle brainy, heavy dramatic, and complex dialogue in many of these kinds of projects, start using them! Stop avoiding using Black American actresses because White Hollywood does not like to use them. There are many African Americans that will go to see a tear-jerker. Shucks, Annalise on HTGAWM is always balling about something and Black Women love that show. Unfortunately, I don't like tear-jerker movies. That's one reason I won't see Moonlight. I go to the movies to escape, be entertained, be thrilled, laugh until I cry, be scared out of my mind, to see sexy female and male actors in great action scenes, and be awed by special effects. I do like good dramas, but I don't like extreme sadness. If I want to see extremely sad life experiences, I can watch the news, watch PBS, or watch documentaries. I hope the Academy recognizes anyone giving an Oscar performance in this movie, but I don't care to see this kind of movie.

Saw it tonight. Naomie Harris was great. Your rant is moot.
It is a tear-jerker. Its also a good flick.

Re: I Won't Pay for Extreme Sadness but Claim Your Oscar

This movie is not sad. There is a lot of cynicism, selfishness and all thesenses we feel close to. Do not judge a movie before you watch it. Take it from a guy who just watched it
