Morgan : At what point did you suspect
Re: At what point did you suspect
For me it was when she went inside the house after Morgan without a gun. It was confirmed when they both went out the window tho
Re: At what point did you suspect
For me it was really only the when she survived th impalement as if it was nothing, although I got suspicious already when she wasn't showing any emotional reaction whatsoever to the kiss as well as during the scenes where her face wa overlapping with the reflection of Morgan's face an you kin of couldn't tell who's who.

Re: At what point did you suspect
I forget exactly what happened, but a few minutes in. And I felt guilty because I thought this was an example of how I am too hard on people. When the end came, I wanted to punch someone in the face.
Re: At what point did you suspect
The first moment I saw her.
She acted like a robot from the first shot.
Big let down of a movie.

Re: At what point did you suspect
How so? I've met a lot of super serious people like Lee that act like "robots."
Re: At what point did you suspect
How so?! Even before we see her, her introductory voice-over when she was calling into corporate sounds nearly indistinguishable from the system she is talking to. In fact, the moronic filmmakers bled the robotic audio effects from the automated recording onto her voice. My first thought was "yep, she's a robot." They then tried to play it off the whole stuffy company suit thing. But this is a movie about AI being evaluated, so it made sense that this was probably just as much her test as well.
Anyone who knows how to look for plot points should have picked up on it.

Re: At what point did you suspect
I don't know the first scene with her, I just knew.
And when she was settling in, I knew it for sure.

Re: At what point did you suspect
Her first phone conversation, so the first few minutes.
Re: At what point did you suspect
Unfortunately i found it immediately obvious, it didnt hurt the film for me though i still enjoyed it. Right at the start when she was offered food in the kitchen and she declined i figured it. Not that it was a total giveaway but having watched a endless amount of horror and sci fi it was the obvious clue. Vampires not eating etc..
i was kind of hoping that there was gonna be more clues that she was an android but then it turns out she wasnt, but i guess thats been covered in other movies too.
As for where is stands as a film of this genre and theme it was good but didnt surpass Ex-machina, which i thought was better.

"Right at the start when she was offered food in the kitchen and she declined i figured it." Why? She was shown at the dinner table eating a meal with the rest of them or did you forget that?
Re: At what point did you suspect
I expected it once they explained how Morgan was created and definitely after Morgan's reaction to her at the first meeting. Morgan knew it.
Re: At what point did you suspect
As soon as I saw her look at Morgan - it was obvious.
Re: At what point did you suspect
Have to say, I didn't start to realize until she seemed fine after being impaled on the tree branch but afterwards, when I thought back through what had happened in the film and questioned if her behaviour hinted at her being synthetic, it became obvious that it was fairly clear from the start. Really good film imo.

Re: At what point did you suspect
I really wanted to believe she was human just because a plot twist at the end like that is really stupid and a big screw you to the viewers.
After she came back from being impaled it was obvious she was an android and really it just made me mad. We have seen movies do this same *beep* its so lazy and lacks ANY creativity to creating a decent ending.

Re: At what point did you suspect
Hollywood movies have taught me to suspect the main character as soon as he appears, when the genre is "robot identity crisis". But for this movie the most definite moment was when she woke up behind the glass.
Re: At what point did you suspect
I didn't know she was a an enhanced human or humanoid.
Honestly, I thought she was just an assassin sent by the company to eliminate experiments that become a threat. but many she really sucked. I thought she was going to kick some butt the way she came up in there all polished and stiff, stoic and serious.

Re: At what point did you suspect
When I first saw her haircut. she reminded of Robert Patrick right off the bat
Re: At what point did you suspect
When I first saw her, since I've been bingewatching Humans and she was acting like she watched that show also

Re: At what point did you suspect
LOL what did they call that when humans were acting like synths? I can't recall but something to the effect they were simulating synths. Like a fad of some sort.
Re: At what point did you suspect
It was completely obvious when the otherwise-pointless JLL character says "you're a goddamned assassin". So that was like, what, ten minutes in.
But even well prior to that, the filmmaker's stupidly tipped off things with an overly robotic voice-over introduction by the character before we ever see Kate Mara on-screen! Yes, yes, yes, she was supposed to be a stodgy corporate drone in the metaphorical sense. But I had already figured that because the movie was about the assessment of AI that it would involve a large-scale Turing test. I was fully prepared for the possibility that even more characters could have been nano-enhanced and passing as part of the team to the point of fooling even human scientists working in the field (which would have actually been a better plot/"twist" if like the cute cook and one of the PHDs were also androids).
The Helsinki conversation further confirmed any suspicion. It was why the Chinese lady had that sealed-fate look. She knew she had recognized Lee as a previous model - one that was now out on its own doing wetwork and clean-up.
Sadly all these elements were revealed well before we even formally meet Morgan who clearly looked at and spoke to Lee with knowledge of her "secret" identity.

Re: At what point did you suspect
the moment which confirmed it for me was when Morgan said this:
"I'm starting to feel like myself. Do you feel like yourself, Lee? Or do you feel like something else."
this was a giveaway. "You're a god-damned assassin" was a big clue.

Re: At what point did you suspect
At first I though it was another superhollywood woman nonsense doing better than men. So she was kicking ass with that small frame while looking cool.
But I knew something was wrong when after Morgan killed the black guy Lee asked her to enter the cage and Morgan said that she would like to because they had lot to speak off.So it was obviously that they both were an experiment.

Re: At what point did you suspect
The moment she appeared on screenno subtle at all
Re: At what point did you suspect
When she came back to the lake.
Falling off the balcony and getting right back up, that can be explained by "hollywoodness".
Lee acting all robotic, that's Kate Mara's acting for me.
"That was a courtesy flush. I'm not actually done yet"

Re: At what point did you suspect
at the trailers.
Re: At what point did you suspect
When she climbed up and kicked out the skylight. Up until that point I thought her behaviour was unusual (i.e. strolling casually into the room after the psychiatrist was killed, inviting Morgan to come into the room and chat) but given how unusual much of the characters' behaviour was up until the point I'd just assumed it was Hollywood asking us to abandon logic.

Re: At what point did you suspect
That Lee wasn't fully human?
Very early on. During the opening phone call the man she was talking to said they didn't want another Helsinki, indicating that Morgan wasn't the first time they'd tried to artificially create life. After watching her first few scenes, it just popped into my head that she was probably also artificially created. It's exactly the kind of "twist" that Hollywood is fond of using.
It was also used in the movie Watchers, way back in 1988 when Michael Ironside also turned out to be an experiment.

Re: At what point did you suspect
I first suspected when she was looked at herself in the mirror in the beginning of the movie and straightened her hair. She seemed really stiff, and I wondered if she was a robot or whatever as well.
Re: At what point did you suspect
For me watching this, I had my own suspicions something wasn't right when Lee was packing a hidden gun to the psych Turing test evaluation with that doctor. Another hint was when she was locked in the area and broke through the skylight without breaking a sweat but also the lack of emotions after the attack during the psych evaluation.
What really clued me in was that while the others could not match Morgan's superhuman like speed and strength it was Lee matching her blow by blow without flinching at all and taking all her hits including the fall out the window. I knew then for sure! The other later clues would be again the lack of emotion but also even some subtle hints like Morgan looking at Lee through the glass and the almost mirror like reflection of the two. Another one as ones have noted include Lee getting impaled and while it could be shock but acting like it was no big deal hence the advanced human like healing ability of sorts even though it was not mentioned and lack of bleeding out.

Re: At what point did you suspect
not human? Even if lee was genetically altered or enhanced like Morgan, they were both still made of human DNA or at least human body parts. Did the enhanced DNA make their bones made of steal? and not able to die? I really didn't get that from the movie. Morgan survived the fall because she was smart enough to know how to fall and survive it. She had enhanced intellect. Lee was simply trained to kill, fight and survive. They were both cut up and injured like humans. I don't see any evidence from the movie to suggest they were somehow not human physically.

Re: At what point did you suspect
Lee is impaled on a broken branch and subsequently walks onto the pier without so much as a bloodstain on her shirt?
Re: At what point did you suspect
I didn't expect it until they were having dinner and Lee started speaking what was it, Chinese?
At first, I thought she was just cleanup for their AI experiments gone wrong. I didn't see the trailer for this movie so I really had no idea what I was about to watch. But to just randomly start talking in Chinese, that set off my suspicions.
What solidified it for me was when Lee is locked in the room and Morgan asks her "Do you feel like yourself, Lee?"
I still enjoyed it though. Decent watch. 7.5/10

Re: At what point did you suspect
Mmmm probably towards the beginning when they were looking at each other through the glass. Dunno why, just triggered. Lee climbing up the skylight and shattering the window was a dead giveaway IMO for anyone else.

Re: At what point did you suspect
During the opening credits.then when I heard the line "everybody likes lasagna", I thought maybe more weren't humanthen the flight attendant brought my cheese plate and I was like, it's probably just Lee and wow, some lasagna right now could be the knockout punch I need to fall asleep
Re: At what point did you suspect
Same but i had my suspicions early on. She was cold and robotic.
Re: At what point did you suspect
Suspected almost instantly. Way too devoid of emotions. For certain: when she tried to call Morgan inside. At that moment it was obvious.
At what point did you suspect
For me the moment I started to suspect that she might be enhanced was when both she and Morgan fell out of the second story window, and both just got up and pretty much shook it off like nothing.
Then when she was impaled by the tree branch, I thought that's if for her, but when she was standing on the pier behind Morgan at that point I was pretty certain that my hunch was right.
