They make a good couple despite being black & white, but it is true, Hollywood pushes the whole interracial dating on movies and shows.

I agree it does feel forced. It is a CW thing. I remember they had that miniseries Containment last season and literally every couple was interracial. I'm shocked that The Flash doesn't have a token homosexual character. Although Arrow does.

Barry and Iris are a couple who has dated other people of their respective race. Since Iris played by a black actress it was a foregone conclusion there would be i terracial at some point. Wally is not seeing anyone. But for the record i dont know if some of you are aware but more younger people are dating outside their race. It is time to get over things like this

It may feel forced if you are ignorant of the source material. In the comics Jessie likes Wally and they kiss. Wally marries Linda. Barry marries Iris. It would be impossible for the CW to tell The Flashes' story without race mixing.

The only implications are socio-political.
Genetically, the guy who plays Wally clear has Caucasian ancestry as well.
I'm disappointed they're forcing him on Wells' daughter though. Shes such a contrived character, and there isn't much to her on a personality and performance level. She's 2 dimensional.
Linda Park seems to have more personality and could probably create a better dynamic with him.
