The Flash : Would Barry need to die to fulfil the flash mythos?
Re: Would Barry need to die to fulfil the flash mythos?
Just have half a season where Barry is doing essentially what he's doing these next two episodes, traveling the multiverse to save someone(or lost himself), and then Wally can take up the mantle as The Flash and Central City's protector in his absence. I don't see anymore than that happening though.

Unless Grant wants off the show then I doubt it. Also, unless they get another Wally because this one is nowhwre near comic Wally.
This show is probably going to be about Barry and not Wally.

Wally West is the Flash.
He's the only "sidekick" to overcome and be better than his predecessor. Dick couldn't do it, Roy definitely couldn't do it. In the history of comic books, Wally was the only character to completely take over and actually be better than the original.
So would it be a betrayal to the character of "FLASH" if Wally doesn't end up becoming the Flash?
