The Flash : Wally = dying

Wally = dying

Can wally die already? I am so tired of him wanting to be a hero. His ego as bi9g as his head.

Re: Wally = dying

Yeah, no. If Wally dies then this show will have lost me. You don't disrespect a character as iconic as Wally West like that.

Re: Wally = dying

Wally is super super annoying, so it's ok with me if they kill him off.

"I take what is mine". Is the funniest line in tv history.

Re: Wally = dying

Agreed. He's the worst.

Re: Wally = dying

Add me!!! Please kill Wally :)

Re: Wally = dying

The character in general is disrespect to Wally West what are you talking about?

I see another joker on the news telling me to play the fool.

Re: Wally = dying

He should have an ego, eventually he surpasses Barry and becomes the greatest Flash ever!

2017! The Year of WestAllen. Time to bring Linda back. Where y'all at Snowbarry?

Re: Wally = dying

I love Caitlin but not with Barry. These two are like brother and sister? friends.

Re: Wally = dying

which is why he should diethis show is about Barryand having a sidekick that is as/more powerful then he is is just silly

he is like an incoming mary sue

just move him to the legends of tomorrowor something like that

Re: Wally = dying

Get rid of his annoying ass fast! They should have left his ass in those comic books his fans keep harping about.

Re: Wally = dying

It won't hurt your precious Barry. It'll give him something to aspire to. The student surpassing the master is a great story-telling trope. I look forward to seeing it. Wally West ceased being a sidekick over a quarter of a century ago.

"I'm Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man a Darn it Wally! I'm Barry Allen and I'm the second fastest man alive!"

Re: Wally = dying

Wally becoming Flash/replacing Barry certainly has its own appeal.

Re: Wally = dying

are you using 'great' as a synonymous with lazy???because that is what it is..an insanely lazy trope

especially in a show that isn't about him(and no what works for comic books is not the same thing that works for movies/tv/any other medium)

Re: Wally = dying

From a storytelling standpoint, it makes no sense considering the show is about Barry. He gives the intro and is the Flash. It's not called the Kid Flash. If they're planning on doing that then the show would have to phase Barry out and reboot it. I wouldn't watch that, but that's what they need to do.

It's all about perspective. It'd certainly be original for a show lacking in it. It's rare or never that I've seen how a master reacts when their pupil surpasses them and they don't die off in the next scene.

I prefer shows that aren't always filtered through the lens of one protagonist. One reason Supergirl is much better this season is the other characters actually have lives. They don't exist solely to tell Kara's story. They have their own stories to tell.

Unlike Caitlin and Cisco, who almost come across as automotons living in Star Labs that come to life when The Flash zooms in. Cisco shows a little character development by not kissing Barry's butt a few episodes and viewers turn on him. Probably the same people that would prefer The Flash fight bad guys 43 minutes an episode with the other 17 minutes dedicated to commercials.

The protagonist has hero allows the hero to muck up and do horrible things and he gets a pass because his name is in the title. Oliver Queen is the perfect example. He cheats on his girlfriend with her sister, yet Laurel is the hated one.

Forget that "Golden Boy crap." If Wally is faster, he's faster and Barry will have to deal just like in the real world where being older doesn't mean you're the best at something.

Hail originality! Run Wallace Run!

"I'm Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man a Darn it Wally! I'm Barry Allen and I'm the 2nd fast.."

Re: Wally = dying

we see the ''masters'' (if you can call Barry that..he is still very much learning)..get worse than their students all the timethis is what the classic 'king fuish' movies are all about..there is no originality there (even star wars touched on this..the biggest films series ever)

this show is called the flashnot super best friends..so yeah it would be about flashsuper girls is still very much a cringe masterpiece..''much better says nothing when the show is THAT bad''.and i saw (some of) season 2..they are still throwing out the same painful dialogue, where the show seems to think it is 'progressive' while it is actually speaking way down to the audience in the most condescending way possible..almost sounds propagandish at times

i don't quite get what you are trying to say about 'Caitlin and Cisco' i am fine with them having their own side storyi did not complain about Cisco's resent..i thought it was fine

this is not ''originality'' this is just a sidekick mary sue that is undermining the very title of the show..it has nothing to do with ''golden boy'' it has to do wih writing..making a sidekick just as good in everything and better in some things is not good writing..especially if he just ''catches up'' in no time..and like YOU said it has been done in the comics..so it is pretty much 'anti-originality' in a medium where it dosn't fit

Re: Wally = dying

He is The best character right now and that's from someone who hates new characters

Re: Wally = dying

Id feel bad for Joe and Iris but I'm very OK with Wally dying. I find the character to be very annoying. His selfishness and constant whining to people who cares about him just makes me want to slap him.I don't remember feeling this way about Jessie when her dad was worried and protective. The writing for Wally is terrible. He wasn't like this when he was into racing cars which was also dangerous at times he was actually funny. But since wanting to and becoming a speedster he started grating on my nerves like nails on chalkboard. I want to see how handles the Iris thing but I have a feeling I'll still want to pull my hair out

Re: Wally = dying

I hate Wally. Idc what the comics say. Idc if he's faster than Barry or whatever. I don't like him and him dying would help the show. He's annoying and justugh.

Re: Wally = dying

It wouldn't help the show's rating. Arrow vastly underrated the popularity of a canon character and killer her off. I wasn't even a big fan of Laurel's Black Canary, but I stopped watching anyway. If they killed off Wally, the results will be the same. I happen to enjoy having a character that realizes having powers is supposed to be fun. Unlike,

1. If I use my powers I turn evil.
2. I could use my powers to visit different reality. Naw, I'm good hanging in Star Labs.
3. I'm not fast enough. Will someone teach me how to get faster?

"I'm Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man a Darn it Wally! I'm Barry Allen and I'm the 2nd fast.."

Re: Wally = dying

I don't find Wally to be a fun character though. He's actually insufferable. He's had a season and a half to grow on me, and he hasn't. Him whining about getting speed was beyond annoying. Now he has it and his arrogance is disturbing. Hopefully being as cocky as he is hurts him beyond repair and he gets killed off. I will not miss him. I'm sure there are others that won't miss him either.

Re: Wally = dying

Everyone's different. I happen to enjoy character growth and multi-faceted characters. If I can like mopey, cry at the drop of a hat and filled with doubt Barry, I can certainly appreciate an inpatient young man that wants to fulfill his destiny.

The more that the characters act like real people with flaws and foibles, the more I appreciate them. I'd like to see more of witchy Caitlin and snarky Cisco.

There are people that would be happy if they killed off Iris and would not miss her. Neither base is a reflection of what the characters bring to the show.

"I'm Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man a Darn it Wally! I'm Barry Allen and I'm the 2nd fast.."

Re: Wally = dying

Wally hasn't grown though. And he ruins the show for me. If and when they make him and his ego bigger than it already is, the show will no longer be on my watch list.

We won't ever agree on Wally, and that's okay.
