Goodfellas : Who really [spoilers]

Who really [spoilers]

killed Tommy ([the real life Thomas DeSimone] in real life)?
I know the movie, making Jimmy out to be the kind father figure-like person to Henry and Tommy (which he wasn't; in real life he was an asshole who used them), makes it seem that the Gottis killed them. But given that Jimmy was killing everyone associated with Lufthansa, and there was a theory that Jimmy might have killed him, it makes me wonder. And that the whole thing with him crying was bullshit. Jimmy in real life was like the mob's version of Charlamagne, borderline Friends-watching Seinfeld-hating Allied Nordicist Yankee racist, minus the larger-than-life elements about him. He wasn't even truly Irish as Burke is a Viking name. There has never been definite evidence that Tommy was murdered by the Gottis.

But yeah, who killed Thomas DeSimone in real life?

Re: Who really [spoilers]

It's payback for Bats. See, Bats was a made guy. He was untouchable.

Re: Who really [spoilers]

Oh I'm sure it was that. But the stories have been shown to be inconsistent in who actually did the killing. And Henry Hill has been proven to be an unreliable source of actual info on the facts, and very inconsistent, when it comes to the things that actually happened in the crime family, although I don't think he was a killer. He seemed like a nice guy, even if he was mischievous troublemaker to some decree. Punch and rough up some of the rival henchmen? Yes. But I don't think he murdered, and I believe the movie was spot-on with that part.

He loved the love and the riches that came with it, but he seemed to be unnerved by actual murder.
