Chiropractors are full of shit

Re: Chiropractors are full of shit

That needs context. There are conditions in which chiropractic should absolutely be avoided, especially if there's structural integrity issues, potential ruptured discs, severe degenerative disc disease, stenosis, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis (III, or IV), or some type of nerve impingement.

However, there are many incidents where chiropractic can help relieve subluxations.

At best, it's a placebo. I suggest everyone just go to a specialist. Even if some places are harmless, there's nothing they do that real doctors can't.

Re: Chiropractors are full of shit

No. It's not a placebo. The facets of the individual spinal joints can get "hung up" and "caught" which causes severe pain. This often happens in the thoracic spine. There's nerve innervation throughout, so it's only logical that if there's some temporary compression on those nerves, that there can be referred pain to other areas of the body; sometimes that pain can radiate through to the chest.

Subluxations can cause headaches, arm pain, even sciatica if the lower lumbar or sacral nerves are impinged. In otherwise healthy individuals, chiropractic or osteopathic adjustments can help to relieve that pressure.

However, there are absolutely conditions/situations in which spinal manipulation is completely contraindicated.

Can an orthopedic doctor not do what a chiropractor does?

Re: Chiropractors are full of shit

No. You're talking about two different approaches. An orthopedic doctor might be a surgeon, they're able to prescribe medications, they can give injections, and various other "invasive" procedures.

A chiropractor or osteopath has a more holistic approach and is non-invasive. Even a physical therapist can technically do more "invasive" treatments, such as dry-needling. A Doctor of Chiropractic also has an extensive amount of academic training, in some areas, even exceeding that of a medical doctor.

Regardless, they are relegated to non-invasive procedures and they cannot prescribe any medication, nor make any suggestions to their patients pertaining to same.

There's no better feeling than cracking your own spine. I lay on the floor and hug myself and fall back onto the floor. It gets everywhere. 👌 Haven't been able to crack my neck for years tho ever since I had a stiff neck and it drives me nuts. I'd gve anything. It was the best feeling ever.
