Black got my vote. Not that I didn't like the others, but she was also a major player in '75, rather than a support role and she was terrific to boot.

and she was terrific to boot.

She really was very good as Nancy. I just wish she had a better leading man than ole Moses face.

Brenda Vacarro would probably be my second favorite.

I know she didn't play the stewardess, but Susan Blakely is not at all likable as the female lead in "The Concorde: Airport 1979". That movie does have some good laughs, though.

Re: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

Heston was around a lot in the 70's and big with disaster themed films. I thought he put the UG in ugly. He wasn't a bad actor though.

Re: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

I never found Heston attractive in the least. He did have a nice speaking voice. That's it for me.

And while George Kennedy wasn't exactly a looker, he had such reserves of warmth and personality that I imagine his wife must have been a very lucky woman. I love George Kennedy. I can't imagine anybody not liking him.

I never found Kennedy physically attractive either, but like you say he had a warm and kind persona.

Re: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

I love how George Kennedy's character seems to always be either promoted or demoted from one Airport movie to another.

Yes, this is really me.

Re: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

Yes.

He knew about the structure of the plane and chomped on a cigar in "Airport".

He was knowledgeable in "Airport 1975" and was married to Susan Clark, also had a son. He was the most emotional in this one. Also gave him the second most screen time.

He did very little in "Airport 77'. I can barely remember him in this one.

He was head pilot in "Airport 1979". His wife had died, his son was in college and he had a fling with a Swedish hooker. I found him the most likable in this one. Maybe because this one gave him the most screen time.

"They don't call it a cockpit for nothing!" -

edit. The first one is so-so for me, but the other three are so much dumb fun!

For sweetness and charm, Julie Haggerty/Elaine Dickenson.
For looks, Lorna Patterson/Randy.

Both from the movie Airplane!

Elaine was a dipshit.

I thought Lorna was cute.

I don't know, what is Toasted Cheese's opinion?
Whatever it is then I agree!

Same. Felt so bad for her meltdown about being 26 and not married. I'll be her husband!

This should be like that game.
Marry one.
Fuck one.
Kill one.
And adopt one like the bitch she is!

Re: Poll: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

There's no contest because Karen is miles better than the others.

Re: Poll: Who's your favorite stewardess from the 70s Airport movies?

I voted for Karen as well. Nancy was the main character in "Airport 1975", whereas the other three were more supporting, and the whole "the stewardess is flying the plane!" captured the zeitgeist of the 70s disaster craze better than anything else. Black also gave a very good performance. She always believed in her characters.

But I think the other three ladies had their own qualities to offer. Bisset was the prettiest, Vacarro was the most down to earth and Kristel was the most sensual.

Karen Black gets my vote. Her performance adds a lot to Airport 1975.
