Yes. I've liked Vincent Price since I was in grade school. He wasn't a natural for horror, and like the also patrician gentleman, Humphrey Bogart, Mr. Price had to overcome certain limitations that held him back in his years in films. Just as Humphrey had to convince moviegoers that he was a tough fighter, as good with his fists as with guns, and skilled in his delivery of tough guy banter. Vincent was not the ideal actor to play mad doctors and vampires; nor was he, unlike the younger Chaney or Glenn Strange, good casting, by temeperament, nor by size and disposition, to play brutes, killers, zombies and werewolves. Vincent Price was rather the First Gentleman Of Horror (no, he didn't literally come to horror before the others, but her perfected the gentleman type for horror, and once he got on the wave he rode it back to shore, and with grace and dignity.
