What's disturbing is how normal people got prescribed this poison, and then got cut off cold turkey with out providing counseling services to ween them off properly and next thing you know they are shooting up heroin. These doctors on the payroll of big pharma are no better then drug dealers.

In cases of extreme pain meds like this are needed though. In the UK, there's a strong aversion to their prescription due to the risk of addiction.

The dosage should be tapered down too to avoid major withdrawal effects.
