The Departed : Happy 15th Anniversary, The Departed!

GREAT Movie!

Agreed! A quote from that movie is actually my tagline.
We don't talk about Bruno! No, no, no!

This movie is so nostalgic. I was in 8th grade when it came out, and it was getting a lot of really great word of mouth. Everyone was saying how Jack Nicholson gave an amazing performance as a vicious gangster — turned out to be one of his last onscreen roles before he retired. My friend went to see it and he said it was the best movie he’d seen all year, and how “different” it was. I finally watched it on DVD a few months later, course my mother didn’t approve of the N-word being dropped in the first 5 minutes or the graphic violence. In hindsight, this flick was the peak of Scorsese’s comeback (that began with Gangs of New York).
I feel like 2006 was one of the last “old school” years for movies, before Marvel came along and basically turned cinema into videogames. Brings a tear to my eye

Without strife, your victory has no meaning.
Without strife, you do not advance.
Without strife, there is only stagnation.

Holy shit that one too

Yea,
I remember both coming out and me checking them both out and was not really disappointed but surprised this high end type of cinema was coming out.

Sarcasm? Can’t tell, it’s too subtle for me.
