Tommy Kirk was a fine actor, well suited to dramatic roles in Disney pictures, and game at comedy as well. I found him appealing when I was a kid, finding him nearly but not quite charismatic, and while fortunate in working for Walt Disney, unfortunate in, aside from what personal problems he had, like so many Disney alums, not becoming a star when fully grown. His sensitivity and occasional woebegone aspect probably limited him; and I wonder how he'd have turned out as a grownup actor. I hope he rests in peace.
