Books : Do You Like Novelizations; if So, what are some of your faves?
Re: Do You Like Novelizations; if So, what are some of your faves?
I didn't realize Alan Dean Foster wrote the novelization for Star Wars. I might have to check that out.
I also heard a rumor he wrote the Star Trek the Motion Picture novelization instead of Gene Roddenberry. I would say the best Star Trek movie novelization I've read. Vonda McIntyre's Wrath of Khan is very good, too.
The Black Hole is also by Alan Dean Foster and it's a surprisingly good novelization.
He also wrote Alien and Aliens, both fine novelizations.
And the novelization for John Carpenter's The Thing. Wish I had held on to that one.
He does seem to dominate novelizations of SF/horror films.

I agree about Alien and Aliens and their quality. I am really eager to read The Thing.
