Black Widow : Loved Black Widow!!!

9/10 from me!
Florence stole every scene she was in - and for an MCU movie, it was dark and brutal as fuck!!
Definitely up there with Winter Soldier. The only downside was Taskmaster, but she was upstaged by Drakov anyway - who was one of the most scary villains they've had!
Everything was so good though! The action and effects, the side characters, Scarlet herself, the score and music - all perfect.
There was around 3 or 4 twists which I didn't see coming either! A must see for any Marvel fan.

The end credit scene was interesting too!

It's been a bad couple of years for exciting movies so if you got too into it, that's understandable.

That's true 😑 I'm a huge movie geek, so I've seen basically everything in cibema since they reopened, but so much shit was dropped on VOD.

I love the movies but near me the screen quality isn't as good as my TV, so I have been doing the various streaming services.

I found out there's an IMAX near me so I might have to go. The picture is always good there.

I still haven't seen the Movie yet (I may just wait for it to come out on DVD) but it definitely looks Pretty Good.

Tbf, it's out on Disney+ today, meaning there should be a crystal clear HD copy floating around online already.

I’m gonna be honest Ryan, it was a nice action popcorn flick but some parts DRAGGED forever. There was too much emphasis on the reunion with Natasha’s , “parents” and the true villain was uninteresting. They tried too hard to install comic relief through Alexei.

And I hated the way they revealed Taskmaster. The bright spot of this movie was Yelena who carried the film on her back. Clearly the torch is being passed to her as the next Black Widow.

I was underwhelmed by Taskmaster, but that's because I was hoping it would be somebody cooler like Rachel Weisz's character.
I thought Drakov was terrifying- probably one of my favourite MCU villains. To me he felt very real in a Jeffery Epstein kinda way.

I actually didn't like Red Guardian, his comic relief felt forced for an unlikeable character (obviously towards the end he is redeemed).

Florence surely outshone every other cast member - did you wait for the end credit scene?/have you watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

The Drakov plot to me felt like a Harvey Weinstein allegory. They should not have had his “ daughter “ revealed as Taskmaster. In the comics taskmaster is a mercenary for hire and it would have made sense given Drakov’s influence and power.

I’ve been watching Loki but I’m not really into Winter Soldier since I never saw his movie.

I loved the whole Winestein-ness about him - in a franchise of Hella's and Thanos' - I found it to be a refreshing to have just an evil, powerful human villain.

Yeah, they should've stuck to tge Taskmaster from the comics- it's clever though how they planted this seed all the way back in 2012's Avengers (Loki asks Natasha if she feels guilt over "spilling the blood of Drakov's daughter).

Oh noo, how haven't you seen Winter Soldier? It's almost everyone I knows favourite MCU movie (including mine)

I need to catch up on a lot of marvel movies 😂. The next Doctor Strange movie is going to be Epic beyond what we can imagine. All these Disney + shows are just side plots leading to it.

Yeah? Wether it was 20mins or one scene - was it darker than anything else in the MCU? It was - usually Disney wouldn't touch plots to do with child trafficking and child murder.

And the violence was also grounded and bloody. The random Widow shooting herself in the head, Yelena slashing the other Widow's stomach, Natasha breaking her own nose…

You may not have liked the film, but it was darker and more brutal.

It was the best MCU film but the rest of the film should have been as dark as the opening credits montage.

The intro was good + the credits sequence + the first 20 minutes thereafter, then it resorted to typical MCU comedy fluff.

They tried to throw comedy in there that just didn't fit.

When Yelena is strapped down, that could have been a dark scene but she ruins the tone by saying, "this is a much worse way to die" in reference to an earlier scene.

And the Russian accents, especially by David Harbour, were horrible. Why not hire Russian actors?

The Russian villain Aleksey Serebryakov from the movie Nobody should have been the dad.

A movie about Russian spies should have been Rated R. There are no superheroes in the movie, so go all the way and make it a Reservoir Dogs style bloody gangsta movie. I'll settle for a hard PG-13, but it should be like a Skyfall/Bourne Identity PG-13.

And I hated that both parents lived. Given all they've been through, at least one should have died. It was way too happy of an ending.
