I think its both but if people are dorks maybe the actor is just imitating this weird kind of acting I can't describe. Maybe its because I can't describe people like Will Forte who is such a horrible actor but it seems everyone acts like that. It doesn't seem real at all and they talk like the equivalence of the ditsy valley girl types but made for this decade. Maybe its also the writing with the same boring phrases and questions. It's like actors are just reading from a teleprompter with bad rhythm and no belief in what they're saying.
