ah yes, i kind of knew about u before that u've been involved with 3 of these cities already. i've never heard of Long Beach before i started researching stats and facts for this post tho. so weird bc it's also so big.

ah yes, i kind of knew about u before that u've been involved with 3 of these cities already.hmmmmmm. smells like ur kinda putting together some type of (quasi?) doxxing dossier just like the one on Trump. well, me and donny have two things in common: both native new york citiers and
i'll save you the trouble of filling in the blank canvas. my parents moved out of manhattan to an extremely remote part of upstate new york not far from the canadian border. small college town. me and 2 others set out on our motorsickles from there to LA the day after HS graduation.
we stayed at my father's great uncle's place in Manhattan Beach until we had enough money saved to get our own place. one decided to return within 6 months. lived on and off in LA, santa monica, and long beach. then returned east. last time in LA was december 2015.

Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
Los Angeles and NYC both have suburbs named Long Beach. That did cause some confusion on one of the movie boards. It's been a while and I don't remember which movie showed the Long Beach Fire Department. It was set in NYC, however.

Some people are shocked to learn that San Francisco is the fourth largest city in California behind San Diego and ¿San José? They don't realize that The City is a tiny speck in a huge metropolitan area. San José is about three times larger geographically.

Yes, thanks, i'll fix it, Mr. Drake!
Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
Why are you doing this? I don't trust you. You listed cities within the USA, yet you live in Germany.
Also, some of the areas in these large US cities are being rebuilt by immigrants. The streets have weird names. And there have been a lot of abductions. Missing people.

And I think they've put something in our food supply sold in the grocery stores and at restaurants. I haven't felt like myself for a while. They are drugging us. It's in certain foods and beverages. I wouldn't be surprised if these aliens haven't infiltrated the CDC and FDA.
Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
We all know they've been poisoning us with chemical additives in food for decades.

Also this might be related to the whole thing. I dunno.
It was weird how the sun burned my skin the other day. The last time the sun burned my skin like that was when I was pregnant.

Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
dude what are u even blabbering about?
Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
Why are you doing this?
i got nothing better to do + awoken interest in what's the biggest cities in America by population (real surprises here!) and which cities would turn out smaller than i have thought originally (that was a lot actually), how many megapolis, metropolis and big cities there actually are in America and learn a bit about each state's capital city. it's called educating urself about stuff that's not exactly part of ur own life, u never do that?
oh nevermind it's u, Donna. sorry, my bad.
Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
ohhh @Cerridwen & @Chase, aren't u planning a road trip right now? would u be as to kind as to share which cities u are going to be visiting on ur way? and/or which cities are u planning to visit and which cities u really wouldn't want to miss? if u don't want to share ur route with the world (& certain individuals), then i understand. i was just curious.
suck it.

Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
Sophie! Sorry this took so long… honestly, I started to respond, rebooted my computer, and completely forgot about it because the notification was gone.
Anyways… the trip isn't planned out in too much detail since much of it will be seasonally based and impacted by the weather, but we'll be mostly staying for free in National Forests around the US instead of cities. Mrs. Jacky and I are more the snowy, wilderness type than the city type. Once international travel is somewhat back to normal, we'll be traveling through Canada as well. We also have plans to ship the bus to Europe and travel around there for a while
Personally, I do very much want to visit Wolfsburg if at all possible while we're in Europe. My bus was built there and I want to drive to the VW Museum and take a picture of her parked where she was once made
Proudly offering too-close encounters since 1977.

Re: American Cities - The Ultimate Population Guide
i see, thanks for the update and no problem at all about the delayed answer! oh yeah i do get why u both would prefer keeping to the peace & quiet of the wilderness over having to put up with the usual hectic of cities/metropolitan areas during ur time of vacation when u have that already in ur everyday life.
haha i think we may have already talked about some of ur plans and Wolfsburg was already part of ur plan back then. did i tell u that i've never been in Wolfsburg myself yet? i probably have told u and that's still true lol apart from it being world capital of VW history and factory, there's not much else about Wolfsburg. u probably already know that before VW there wasnt even a city of Wolfsburg yet, and that Wolfsburg came into being with the foundation of the company of VW. that's why there is not much else going on there
be that as it may, road trips are always so much fun, but i always preferred hopping from city to city bc i'm a total city fan. hence, this thread and it was very educational for me making it in the first place.
spending time int the wilderness is just breathtakingly beautiful and a whole other almost other-wordly experience and a really great opportunity to actually competely disconnect from the real world for a while. and i hope u both have a wonderful, impressionable, unforgettable, crash-free time on the read and u can enjoy ur trip and all the trips that will follow!

shh bby is ok

Re: American Cities Ranked by Population Numbers
I used to live in NYC and it's very well organized for having like 10 million people.
You do not want to drive in or through it though.
I have lived in Philly for decades and it's a weird city in that it's like a vast sprawl of old time neighborhoods with one central modern area.
It is heinous in that driving five miles can take an hour. So, if you have to go to the other side of the city it can be an all day event.
On Saturday I decided to give this kid in a hospital 40 miles away some art books. I literally dropped them off because the hospital is still locked down. The whole trip took four hours!
I used to love Center City, but haven't been there in a year since there's nowhere to park.
There's lots of great things about cities and lots of annoying things that keep you in your area.

Re: American Cities Ranked by Population Numbers
Sounds like most cities where public transport makes more sense, although I hear LA doesn't really have good transportation.
I drove to and from to Chicago once, and even on a Sunday night, it took two hours just to get out of the city via i-94. I spent a week in NYC, and the transportation was good, despite it being filthy.
I never drove overseas, great mass transit in cities like London, Amsterdam, Cologne, Melbourne, Athens, Budapest, Bangkok, Toronto, etc.. Fuck driving, lol

Re: American Cities Ranked by Population Numbers
NYC has AWESOME public transit and it would be dumb to own a car if you lived there.
Philly had public transit only in the center part. It has trains that go to all parts but they let you off in like a field so you need a car once there.
There's a big bus system but that is still keeping you in traffic. Learning where buses go is like rocket science.
A bus stop in Philly might be a street corner or a tree stump.
I have never used a bus here for that reason.

Nashville and Memphis continue to bloom. I love their music scene.

I've been to both. Nashville seems bigger, but Memphis actually is. I believe that's due to Nashville's taller buildings and bigger metro area.
