Nettie, when you were really young, were you worried about Ted Bundy? Obviously, you wouldn't have known his name yet, but were his murders on your radar at all because they were in your part of the country? And were you extra careful?
Also, did you have any older friends or family members who remember and were afraid of the Zodiac?
This is morbid curiosity, I know It's just that I am from the other side of the country so no one in my family had worries about them and I am very curious.
I apologize if this brings up any bad feelings

Hi Penny ~ when Ted was here I was in High School and I would hitchhike, so I was lucky

People would see me and pick me up before someone bad did, which was nice

I didn't know about the Zodiac, but get this, I read Ann Rules books and there was one called Dead by Sunset. As I was reading, I realized it was about my friend's cousin!

He was the one who murdered his wife

Oh, my god! What a crazy realization to have while reading a book! I haven't read Dead by Sunset. Do you recommend it? I did find Rule's book The Stranger Beside Me very fascinating. Aside from the fact that Rule knew Bundy, I thought she was a good writer. She really pulled me in.

Looking back, it makes you wonder how you got this far!
When I think of how trusting I use to be, I realize now, just how lucky I am to be alive!
Hitching was just a way to get from point A to point B.
Meeting people I had never met before at a disco, and going with them to an after hours house party seemed like no big deal at the time. I was having a good time!
