I saw those on a baking show once and really wanted to try one. Too bad I can’t bake lol

My top 5 baked goodies:
- baklava
- tiramisu
- creme brûlée
- an Egyptian pastry called samosa
- macaron

I'm lucky enough to have a local bakery that makes them and they are so good! I thought I might have a go at making them but after watching the video I've decided life is too short!

I like all of the things on your list but have never tried a sweet samosa. What is in it?

I made macaron a few Christmases ago which was a real faff!

Seriously though, I knew baking was hard, but trying it is a whole ‘nother thing. I have a huge respect for good bakers.

And oops, my brain wasn’t awake this morning lol. It’s actually called BASBOOSA not samosa. Per the internet, these are the ingredients:

Basbousa is a traditional Middle Eastern sweet cake that originated in Egypt, although it is also popular in other countries. It is made from a semolina batter and cooked in a pan, then sweetened with orange flower water, rose water or simple syrup, and typically cut into diamond shapes.

I didn’t know it was made with semolina or rose water. But my god it tastes amazing.
