The Affair : Sex scene at the very end.

I don't know if you guys saw what I saw, but the rough sex scene at the very end when Noah seemed to be hallucinatingWhen he looked down at Helen,her body seemed much more skinny and to me it kinda looked as if he was looking at his daughter ? From what I remember, we didn't actually see Helen's face eitherWhat you guys think ???

Well this is a pretty disturbing interpretation of yours. I think she looked nothing like Whitney.

Please don't take it so personal, I was just asking a question..that's all !!! I am not a freak or a pig or anything like that. I have a 9 yr old daughter myself.. I was only making the point that Noah started to freak out towards the end and when they show him looking down at her, the body type resembled a much thinner looking frame, more like the daughtergo back and re-watch..I don't believe they show Helen's face..

I don't think the writers would do that. Might be too much for the viewers.

The writers have had Noah and Whitney both naked in a pool last season; neither one knew the other until they looked at each others faces as opposed to bodies. I believe the writers would go that far. (I thought it disturbing then; I've pretty much given up on this show).

It was too dark to actually see anything. Like most of this season has been filmed dark, muddy and mumbly.

I was wondering that, too! Especially because the daughter's boyfriend beat him up and she said he was protecting her from her father. Also, she was so angry for her mother for letting him back in the house after everything he did, made me wonder if this was all foreshadowing. I actually hope not. It would be really horrible.

Omg yes and I don't think she told her mother about that! Noah had said he hasn't seen or talked to Whitney since that incident in the hot tub. Wonder if it was more than what his version showed?! Omg I never thought of that til now.

I've become bored with The Noah Show & I really liked Season 1 & 2. This Season I either record & watch the next day or when it's on demand. I don't pay that much attention to it. I'll try to pay attention to that Scene the next time it's on.

I'm not offended. I remember Noah looking at two young girls at the party & he was in the hot tub & he made his way over to them hoping to get in on it, only to realize it was his daughter. He was too old for them too.

That's the last thing I saw. I went back and watched again and there's nothing there to suggest he was seeing Whitney. In fact, the little you could see looked like a mature female body on the bed. I don't know how you'd even get that, to be honest. If the show was trying to imply that he was having some disgusting fantasy about his own daughter, they would have made it a lot more clear than that. To me it looked like they wanted to show he was having some kind of PTSD reaction, practically choking her and pretty much out of his mind. Also, what he was saying, "you don't know me" didn't seem related to Whitney in any way.

I saw it last night, and viewed it the same way you did. Granted, the shots of the scene from Noah's POV were very dark and murky, but I didn't think Helen looked anything like Whitney on the bed.

Agree, but one thing I did wonder about that is why was Noah saying that? That was part of Helen's POV, from her parents saying that, to Nina saying she didn't know him. Where did that come from, as far as Noah was concerned? Had he spoken with Nina, or even Max?

Yeah, only thing I could think was that Helen was trying to convince herself that she knew her husband of all those years (after being shaken by Nina, Max and Vic's various assertions), and that she said something to the effect that she DOES know him and that became some kind of trigger for Noah sending him off the deep end. It may be a trigger for whatever went down with Gunther. I feel that he was probably raped and felt powerless, maybe when his shoulder was broken or he was incapacitated in some other way? And being somewhat out of his mind during sex with Helen, his physical reaction to her comment, which seemed to imply some kind of control over him, was to do to his abuser what had been done to him. Of course, that's all speculation. But something's going on because it was highly out of character for the kind of sex Noah's had in the past.

Ok, that's fair. After watching it for a 3rd time..Maybe it was what I first thoughtBut still this Noah guy is falling hard !!!! lol

Didn't anyone else notice that it was actually Max on top of Helen at one part of this scene? I had to replay it to be sure, and it's definitely Max. To be specific, it's the part where it gets aggressive.

If that's true, I totally missed it !! I will have to re-watch again. Man, this show is so twisted nowBut I'm glad season 4 will be the last.

So I just re-watched again.At one point it "kinda" looks like Max for a split second, but I can't be 100% sure it's Max too. It kinda looked like his hairline.
