The Walking Dead : The Steve Lake, ITTY, Gameboy phenomenon

The Steve Lake, ITTY, Gameboy phenomenon

You know, where they come in here, raging about how unfunny we are, and how we go on and on about our own board and all the stuff we did? This happens about once a week, and I thought it was worth analyzing.

Let's not dismiss them and their critique out of hand. Let's be empathetic and put ourselves in their place. To them, they themselves are like guys who did six tours in Nam, while we were…

…the UN Peacekeeping Force! And we were stationed in Switzerland!

While they were in the paddy fields (Bitten by flies, fought) killing gooks, we were drinking schnapps and eating chocolate! And we have the gall to boast about it! Remember that time Rob got drunk and hit on the Swissair flight attendant and her husband was at the bar! Hilarious!

But why are they upset, you might ask? Why don't they tell their own stories and show us how cool they were?

The short answer to that is: nobody has properly archived their narratives! In our case, between Crystal's screenshots, Horatio's Echelon and my analyses (which were mostly circlejerking round-ups), we preserved the narratives from decay, and from the oblivion that awaits us all.

Now, for a small sum of money, we will take up the function of preserving and disseminating those narratives! Send us your stories, and we will make you famous and preserve your legacy as board legends! No longer will you have to listen to boring narratives about Shredder picking up wimmins in sports bars or Mange waiting for hungry to show up with his AK47 at the ready. Your own stories will be lovingly celebrated and embellished.

Act now to preserve your past.

Re: The Steve Lake, ITTY, Gameboy phenomenon

I like pc and he's the moderator for this board, right? I mean, i know he's an admin but doesn't he mod this board specifically? Or was that twiz? I thought he was forced to read the board (like orson). So i forgive his critiques -especially because he is never that rude or butthurt seeming. I think he just sounds exasperated lol. But the more he jumps in to say we're terrible and amish the more it does seem a little butthurtish.

Itty i never knew and spoke to for the first time today. But he seems exactly like a steve lake.

I'm trying to put myself in their state of mind to see things from their pov…

Got it. Yeah, it sucks to be them, that's for sure.

Re: The Steve Lake, ITTY, Gameboy phenomenon

I'm sad cause the zoo is still closed here. It's supposed to open up the 15th though!
