Resident Evil: The Final Chapter : Is this "final chapter" going to be really final?

Self-explanatory question. Are they going to make more RE movies, making this one's title so moot, or is it actually the chapter that ends the series?

I've never seen any movie of this franchise but could be bothered with this one if there is a conclusion. I did though play RE2 for Playstation back in the nineties.

So the word "final" works more like "ultimate" or "definitive", rather than "last". Correct?

We really do not know the intentions of the producers. Do they want more $$$? But they open the possibility of another movie via their main character Alice, like in my answer above.

If the producers are interested in keeping integrity, and don't care about $$$, then it is really the last one.

Pretty sure it's the last one for Alice regardless of whether they make more films.

Milla and Paul have said several times that they won't be coming back.


Though of course, maybe 10 years down the road or so, maybe then they'll be interested if they can't get money anywhere else. But it will be a while, for sure, as Paul already announced his next project - a Monster Hunter film for Capcom.

There will be 6 more films with Milla doing spins and cartwheels.

Well since The Final Chapter's closing scene included a few pterodactyl-type mutants flying overhead that should've dropped out of the sky as soon as the cure was released, but somehow didn't I'm guessing we won't have to wait too long for Resident Evil: Regurgitation to hit the theaters.

This movie bombed so it will be the last one for sure.

Bombed domesticallymade a lot more overseas if I'm correct it's made like 75 million so far total

People are speculating that there 'may' be another movie planned because Alice concluded with her words: 'My work is not done yet'. I think it was their intention to have the ending open to speculation, to generate discussion on what we think Alice will do next in her life. Despite the ending left it open for a potential sequel, the story felt like it came to a definite end. But I won't be surprised if another one gets made because money talks.

The character of Alice might go on in some Apocalyptic Western kind of way. But Resident Evil the series is done for sure. They'll be rebooting it after this.

I have a feeling they'll pull an "Alien Ressurection" on us in about 10 years, but possibly under a different title than Resident Evil.
