Inception : How about a sequel?

How about a sequel?

I'm serious about this.

In the sequel we discover that Cobb was in fact dreaming. Somehow Ariadne found another level with limbo! This level is beneath limbo. It's an alternate reality shared by Cobb and Mal.
Hint: Mal's totem, the spinning top. We don't see it fall. It only topples.

Unfortunately for Cobb, within this alternate dream state, there is another version of Mal because it's actually her dream. She hadn't died after all. Or did she? This other reality could be a representation of a nightmare scenario. Maybe a plot twist. I dunno.

Cobb reunites with his children and Mal.
But Mal didn't die from the gunshot wound in the scene where Cobb expresses his guilt before riding the levels back up like we thought.

In this new level underneath limbo, everything in it is part of Mal's subconscious. There is also another version of herself. This other Mal is a mirror image so to speak. While Cobb romances Mal, that mirror image "subconscious" attacks Cobb for the kids and her rightful place next to her real family.

This movie focuses on the catharsis of their family unit and obviously the end is both the real Mal and Cobb finally waking up. Clearly the main antagonist is the mirror image of Mal. The heroes are the real Mal, her kids and her subconscious. Cobb is the anti-hero.

As with all other Chris Nolan action films, expect a lot of high intensity action sequences, spectacular visual effects, cinematography, loads of drama, well developed characters and arch, and some dark humor.

EWW☠PASS

β€œI do this real moron thing, and it's called thinking. And apparently I'm not a very good American because I like to form my own opinions.”

Re: How about a sequel?

It's brilliant! I wonder what personality type the evil Mal would be created? INFJ.
Yeah INFJ vs the real Mal's INTJ.

Re: How about a sequel?

To be honest, Inception should be focused on different cast while exploring deeper into lore/mythology of inception because if the sequel to Inception is made with same cast, it would ruin the ambiguous ending the first one had. Sure, there is plenty of stories to tell, but I think they should leave everything in first Inception alone, and start with new set of people.

If I get pulled over, it better be a gay policeman riding on a unicorn.

Re: How about a sequel?

I never mentioned anything about bringing the entire original cast back. The main characters will be Mal, Mal's double, Cobb, and probably Miles. The rest of the characters is creative liberty as far as I'm concerned. But no mythology or lore in this film at all. The only thing I've added to the concept of dream sharing is another level of subconscious, perhaps that level would be the true version of limbo.

And there is no lore/mythology either! There never was more/mythology in Inception. NO MAGIC! You're thinking of something else entirely and you really are out of your element here. Mkay?

So I really don't need anymore ideas. What's there stays.

Re: How about a sequel?

That could work. Maybe have it be Mal has more control in limbo than Cobb thinks though.

Re: How about a sequel?

No thanks. The first one fucked my brain up enough.

Re: How about a sequel?

Lol!

I want to see more though.

Re: How about a sequel?

They did a sequel called Tenet and it was an absolute letdown.

Re: How about a sequel?

Was it an actual sequel though? I thought they were just related. Anyway, you're right, Tenet sucked.

Re: How about a sequel?

They're likely spiritual sequels but, either way, the last portion feels like a really bad Outer Limits/Twilight Zone episode.

Re: How about a sequel?

"INCEPTION" is definitely a Great Movie but I don't think it needs to have a Sequel.
