Documentary : The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game

Okay, and now for something completely different… This looks quite interesting.

Re: The Imitation Game

I think you'd enjoy this movie. The main character is a closeted homosexual. I won't spoil anymore of the plot. I should watch it again. It was a really interesting drama.

Re: The Imitation Game

This guy cracked the enigma code which helped Britain discover some of the Nazi's strategies. He was a hero, and was treated like a criminal because he was gay.

An Enigma machine is a famous encryption machine used by the Germans during WWII to transmit coded messages. An Enigma machine allows for billions and billions of ways to encode a message, making it incredibly difficult for other nations to crack German codes during the war — for a time the code seemed unbreakable.

Re: The Imitation Game

I was familiar with the Enigma machine and code cracking, but I didn't know this was based on a true story.

It absolutely appalls me that people were treated as subhuman for being gay. The obsession people have over the sexuality of others never ceases to amaze me.

I'm going to watch this movie this afternoon (I decided not to get into a drama last night before bed, and instead chose something light) and see what I think.

Is it fairly accurate as well as a good movie?

Re: The Imitation Game

His accomplishment was amazing. His fate in the end brought tears to my eyes. I think there is a novel about his story somewhere. I remember trying to find it. I don't think I did find that novel.

Re: The Imitation Game

Very good film. It tells the story of a very great man that many don’t know about outside of England. It’s quite tragic honestly.

Hey Diddler, Diddler….the cat and the fiddler LOL
