Food and Drink : Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Coffee is the elixir of life, while tea is a planted gift from the gods, with it being frequently argued that tea is healthier to drink than water is with far more health benefits. My vote would go out to tea, since coffee makes my muscles jitter, while tea reposes them.

Re: Do you prefer coffee or tea?

I usually drink several cups of coffee upon waking up in a state of sleep deprivation if I’m feeling the mixed emotion of being tuckered out, while having my body and head on low battery mode in order to give the false impression and appearance of being awake. I do enjoy drinking coffee, but it just gives me way too much energy if I drink some while I’m fully awake. Tea does have some caffeine though, so it can do wonders, too, lol.

to give the false impression and appearance of being awake.

Have you ever tried something like this? lol

You could just paint eyeballs on your eyelids and no one would know! Heck, you could even fall asleep at work. (But you might look like you're stalking your coworkers!)

Re: Do you prefer coffee or tea?

I’ve tried that before, and I ended up giving myself the eyes of a vampire, with a minor drop of red after the paint brush got dabbed into my eye, unintentionally mixing in a couple of colors from my eyes, lol. That’s why I never paint.

Re: Do you prefer coffee or tea?

LMAO!

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

That depends on how I'm feeling at the time. Earl Grey tea is fragrant and refreshing, but it's not the only tea I drink. Columbian blend coffee has my favorite flavor, but it's not the only coffee I like.
Sometimes I don't feel like either.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Coffee once in a while. I love the flavor, but I can't deal with the jitters caffeine gives me. I have enough trouble sleeping at night anyway, so I don't need it. Decaf isn't as good.
Herbal Tea is what I drink the most. Iced in the summer. Hot in the winter.
No soda. Just water.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Weird question. Does herbal tea have caffeine in it?

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Not that I'm aware of. There are different blends. No caffeine in any of the ones I buy.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Ah, thanks. Do you know of any good herbal brands that mix well with lemon and honey, Margo?

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Check out Yogi blends. They have some wonderful combinations.
the Sore Throat one is wonderful on it's own, but I'm sure that it would be great with honey.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Do you get the caffeine jitters from a particularly strong cup of tea, like a black tea?

I only drink coffee once in a great while, and primarily it's because I dislike the jittery feelings it gives me. One solution I found was to almost make a half & half, or latte with coconut milk.

When I was younger, my ex turned me onto this type of coffee, which we'd have with half n' half because it is reeeeally strong!

I don't seem to have the same tolerance for caffeine as I once did.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Whoooo! I can't handle that or anything with caffeine any longer. That jittering feeling is awful. If i do drink coffee or black tea, it has to be early in the day.
As I said, I have such a hard time staying asleep all night. Not only do I avoid caffeine, I avoid any liquids a few hours before bed most nights. Having to get up to go to the bathroom at 3:00 AM means that I may or may not get back to sleep for hours.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

I drink on average 5 litres of seltzer water each day. I drink straight up until when I get ready to go to bed. I'm the same way, though, and if I *do* have to get up to pee, I have the hardest time getting back to sleep. But if I *can* sleep straight through the night, I can do it uninterrupted and be okay.

I can't believe how much coffee I used to drink. And very strong coffee at that.

I had a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee last year some time, and just that made me all sorts of jittery.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

I miss those days when I could drink coffee all day and not be bothered by it.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Same here because I genuinely like the flavour of coffee, especially the Ethiopian blend I showed you before. But it's soooo strong, so you can't drink it black.

I'll drink a cup of coffee if I'm getting a bad headache, though, because I know the caffeine helps.

We used to drink a few cups a day including a cup after dinner, and I never had a problem going to sleep.

The other thing now is that my stomach doesn't seem to tolerate coffee as well anymore. Adding coconut milk helps, but if I add cow milk, well, uh, that's a disaster waiting to happen.

I almost forgot about that. Coffee. The best laxative in the world! It really moves the mail.

Brons' dinosaur piss.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

Well, I don't drink hot, brewed coffee, but I do buy iced coffee once in a while, usually with vanilla flavored ones. The university I'm attending have Starbucks cafe so I stop by there ocassionally and get a flavored frap (sometimes, strawberry creme, sometimes caramel, and sometimes blueberry) which are delicious.

But I'm mostly a tea drinker, though. Sometimes, I mix it with lemons. I drink black herbal tea and green tea. I also drink detox tea when I feel like it.

Long story short, it depends. I go back and forth, depending on location and my mood.

If I get pulled over, it better be a gay policeman riding on a unicorn.

Coffee with a good dollop of Irish Creme. That'll put lead in your pencil.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

After trying a cup of Yogi in its natural form, I must say that it tastes as if I’ve found my new go-to brand of tea that I’ll be able wake up for on a daily basis, lol. I didn’t even need to mix in any other ingredients to savor the flavor of it.

Thank you for recommending the tea, Margo!

I'm glad you like it. There are a number of favorites, but I really enjoy the Throat Comfort blend.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

The Throat Comfort blends of tea always can accord someone with the easy remedies to give the throat a good cleansing on our throats whenever they get afflicted with some respiratory illnesses that happen to be more severe of a burden, symptom-wise even; so therefore, I agree. I also tend to drink Throat Comfort blends because of the natural bioactive compounds that are effective at invigorating our body’s immune system, and also for the premium package of other health benefits that the beverage can get provide.

I almost wish that I could visit the United Kingdom again to chow down a cup of their tea, lol. I prefer the authentic British drink, rather than the American brands of it. I also would have loved having a tea time while growing up.

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

About tea times, I wish we Americans had those too. Most families don't even stop for a proper meal here, let alone Tea! We are so uncivilized!

Re: Do you prefer drinking coffee or tea?

I prefer coffee, as it would the way a washing machine prefers to drink clothes than tea, swirling and cleaning and interfering with the threat to interfere with the spin cycle as a bear would interfere with the flow of a river to catch its meal for the day.
