Fenn's Treasure - Cache of gold and jewels hidden somewhere in the Rocky Mtns

The story goes, in 1988, Forrest Fenn, a wealthy antiques dealer, was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer, and believing he would die, he decided to bury a portion of his fortune and belongings in the Rocky Mountains. He later recovered from the illness and it wasn't until 2010 that he revealed the existence of this hidden treasure, in a book that offered clues on where to discover it. Ever since, there has been a large effort to find this treasure, with some spending thousands of hours and dollars on their quest. It's location is said to be revealed in a series of clues given in a poem found in the book. Here is that poem:

As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.

Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.

From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.

If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.

So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.

So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

There is no proof that the treasure actually exists, we only have the word of the man who claims to have buried it over 30 years ago. Today, Forrest Fenn is 87 years old. The value of his treasure is estimated to be worth $2 million. So far, 4 people have died searching for it.

Why didn't he go back for it himself? Too wealthy to care?
Great story though.
