Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Back in January 2015 a crazy fan - if you can call him a fan - threatened Milla Jovovich's mother that he'll blow up her house if she don't help him to contact her daughter

Until this incident she was very active on social media sites, talking with the fans very often

She took a break from this sites because of that

Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

What would you if you were in the same situation?

Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Nobody is forced onto Social Media and so I don't see why people feel the need to use it as often as they do for people that generally don't care about them and just want to chase the offence party as far as they can during their waking hours.

The amount of news articles these days which just take random Twitter users' comments into account in their summing up of a story really shows how far into the barrel people are willing to stoop to get their scoop.

Seems like how celebrities troll is all to me, I doubt anyone with a good amount of followers for their work outside of Social Media really gives a todd about it (And rightly so).

I agree and now you can see why I never use it.

Mirror, mirror on the phone - who is it that is most alone?

Never going to be a happy ending with that type of feedback being taken as normal.

Now they want to censor people?

Back to Web 1.0 it is for everyone

Not yet, had a lot to catch up on and so have left that on the backburner until I have some peace and quiet to appreciate it properly.

I think it's more than just looming. It may have pounced already!

Your Stepford thread over on MC has rekindled by the looks of it.

Seems people are jealous of your being cool with here.

Sad folks, I had such high hopes for them

My My My… I had to check that out!

Five months have passed. time to get over it.

I'm just curious as to why it was brought up and propagated by the two that it was.

I'm guessing they just want a wave from the cool gang or something

Now, let's get back to getting the individual boards here up and running properly again

Yes. Let's focus on the individual boards here!

If you have any ideas feel free to share them Margo, conjecture is better than idol gossip as it seeks to put reason to use as oppose to baser, less attractive, qualities like throwing stones at an enemy who can't return the favour

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

D-stinkyfeet and hownoes are good buddies. We see feet here all the time. He seems to be obsessed with Dazed from all of the posts I see here. He obviously tells his buddy . Why else would hownoes even bring it up? Anyway, that's my theory… not that it's really all that important. Whatever. I'm growing weary of PeeWee Espionage.

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Df can be antagonistic at times, I'll accept that. I feel it is done to get a rise though and without any genuine malice.

Hownos bringing that thread back and Stratego joining in just seemed bitchy at best.

It is certainly dustbunny material in its magnitude though. There's more charge on on a water molecule in the deepest recesses of outer space

I agree, but we have no choice but to adapt, cause it's not going anywhere.

BTW, Bandersnatch is brilliant. I've watched it twice, and will probably watch it several more times to get to the other endings.

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

If someone wishes to see me as an enemy then they'd better class up beyond clutched pearl string handbag held to the chin while feigning fainting.

Bumping old threads where the intended recipient can't reply with loaded goading messages and the hangers on jumping in to support such activities is infantile at best and indicative of abuse at worst.

Particularly when my various names have been brought up as a means of inflammatory upset, much like Mod3 in my signature points out too

Hownos busted; FACT!

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Sure did Dazed!.

That's after Stratego admits to having an account here but not posting, and uses my username here to find fault with my ideas.

Hownos bumped it of course but like yours Stratego was straight in there pumping the hysteria.

I don't play games of "Do you wanna winch ma pal?" and so I'd suggest to each to stop hiding behind MC and using Margo as a filter to show their…disdain(?)

Seems Hownos is a shit stirring and is probably Mod3 after all

stratego is actually user 92 on this site, registered march 9th, 2017. one of the first users. a bonafide filmboards vet.

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Thanks Nimbda!

It's amazing that they don't wish to talk about people here on this platform then.

But, that is their right to do so should they wish to.

I just find MC being their platform of choice to do so from as being a touch trite.

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

i read that thread that you linked. it seems they are maybe just a little too intimidated by the reputation of this site to come over, which is not uncommon. things aren't as wild as they used to be though and the addition of moviechat users here is a large reason why. all of you guys have been great. i saw margo invited more over. hopefully they come. thank you, margo.

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

Thanks Nimda!

Stratego has since sent me a PM here and so I understand that they are at least abreast of the situation

Here's hoping for more MC users kicking it over here!

I don't know Dazed.

Keeping an eye on folk is one thing, opening an old thread and goading is another.

Particularly when nobody seemed to stand up for you when you were lynched.

I don't call people who stay silent when someone they call a friend is being abused a friend.

Perhaps my value system is just different

Living in fear isn't living in my books Dazed

I just don't see the point in Hownos bringing up an old thread and then alluding to your antics over here - seems very off in my opinion.

A fresh "Who else misses Dazed" thread would be much more apt and less open to being construed in the way that I apparently have.

But all I see is projection from people, perhaps I'm the nutter here

Re: Social media and mental health, a looming crisis?

You are welcome for me trying to have your back but, for me at least, it's more about having unknown persons' backs in the future too.

If they had consistency over there they'd stand a chance at being an online community - but they don't and so won't.

I'm happy here as I only engage with people when I think it might be worthwhile. Building on that worthwhileness will allow everyone to have their fun with only a minimal amount of overlap between those seriously looking to discuss movies and TV and those looking to have some online trolling fun.

If a community wishes to have closed gates then so be it, but either close them properly or instill a sense of decency within its members not to goad those who cannot reply.

MC closing its doors completely would be a search engine optimisation suicide and so they should focus on having rules to not agitate former members who cannot reply directly to those bringing them up.

That's my two cents anyways.

The case for Samson being Moderator 3 was made months ago:

https://www.filmboards.com/board/p/3224892/

If both theories are correct and mod3 is hownos, as you suggest, then that could only mean… hownos is Samson!
