Suicide Squad : what did you guys rate this movie and why?
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
1/10. Imo it sucks big time.
The story there hardly is one, it takes more than an hour to establish the main plotline.
Nothing Waller does makes any sence, nomatter how much i twisted and turned the logic I just couldn't make it work.
The main villain is awful. So boring.
The dialog is tired and uses autopiloted clishes. Nobody cared in that departement.
Deadshot is basically Will Smith playing Will Smith playing Deadshot with a lot of Will Smith in him.
Jay Courtney. why do they keep employ him? His accent is bad, hire a real Australian instead.
Killer Crock got nothing to do.
Harlie Quinn is waaayy to downplayed.
Her flashback scenes is garbidge, skipps everything that was interested about her and the Joker.
The Joker, not needed here. And his laugh sounds like the pinguins in the Adam West TV Show.
Was that really the best he could come up with?
Katanna, compleatly wasted here.
Plus, it is visually a really UGLY movie.
Crocks head is to big, he looks redicilus, leftover effects from the Mummy Returns.
And what is it with the Pimp and Whore themes in the charakter designs?
The design is complete garbidge.
I really tried to find something to like about this stinking pos but I just couldn't.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
As much as I don't like this film and Jai Courtney it's actually his real accent. He's aussie. Lol
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
1/10 because this thing is not a movie, it's like The Phantom Menace: just a bunch of scenes. Not a movie.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
Phantom Menace had a great story and great scenes, especially the lightsaber fight. The problem is that Lucas infantilized the movie too much with certain characters.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
Yep this. And a great new sound track to boot
Phantom menace was twice the film the force awakens was and 10x the film this piece of *beep* was.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
The Phantom menace? Seriously? Jar Jar Binks and annoying little *beep* Anakin was better than TFA?
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
"1/10 because this thing is not a movie, it's like Attack of the Clones: just a bunch of scenes. Not a movie."
There fixed it. I thought Phantom Menace was the most coherent of the Prequels. While still not great, you could follow the plot and it had some solid action scenes (podrace the Duel of the Fates.)
Suicide did not have a plot you could follow, and no memorable action.
Thor 2-Attack of the Clones-The 5th Element the trifecta of bad movies.

9/10. I liked it.

I guess you're the only one.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
It went from being a 6/10 on the first watch to a 4/10 on the second watch.
This film is worse than ASM2.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I rated it a 7 instantly. I may move it up to an 8 if I keep liking it on DVD.
All the ratings I give have specific meanings for me. 7 is the most important rating. 7 means complete satisfaction, but nothing special or extra. It's the feeling you get when you got exactly what you paid for, no less and no more. I go to the movies in the hope of seeing a 7. (Anything more is a bonus.) Since I have seen a bunch of movies that didn't rate a 7 in the past few years, I'm going to the movies less and less. If more of the movies I see are 7's (or better), I'll go back to going to the movies every week.
The reason Suicide Squad didn't rate above a 7 for me was the villains' plot and the reasoning behind it. That was: people worship machines now, so I will create a machine that destroys the world. That was it; that was the whole of their thinking process. I don't expect genius, but that was beneath retarded. It's not even correct that in the DC universe people worship machines; we saw with the funeral of Superman that Christianity is still going strong. So the villains' plot is: "because of (false and stupid claim) I will do (stupid and destructive thing)." Superman Returns' Lex Luthor's plan to make a kryptonite continent was much better than this.
The reason Suicide Squad might get me to watch it again many times on DVD (which would make it an 8 despite all flaws) is that it has so many good things, including top-notch acting throughout. I particularly like Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn and the Joker.
When Harley Quinn pressed NORMAL, the movie turned to magic, and I forgave all the bad bits up to then. If I keep feeling that way, that means it's an 8: something special, a bit more than what I paid for, and something that keeps pulling me back to it.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
To be fair, I don't think she meant the "they worsip Machines now" line literally. She meant they are preoccupied with their own machines and buildign it up.
Basically Mankind is obsessed with their tech, and don't focus on anythign else.
That dons;t make her a great villain, but I can't complain too much, I like the Marvel Films and most of their villaisn aren't reallymuch better. I think the VIllain was the weakest part of Suicide Squad, but the story sis more aboutthe Squad we follow, nother, she's justthe obsticle that drives the plot so is a Maguffin. The real failign is that it didn't devlliver a strogn enough CHaracter Peice for the suad to come together.
But, with that said, I did liek the fim. I don't think it was great, but ti wasa fun popcorn flick.
It's also the best DCEU film to date. Granted that's not sayng a lot

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I actually didn't rate it. If I had to give it a grade like in School, as if I was the Teacher and this was the assignment, I'd give it a C, maybe C+. It's a decent SUmmer Action Flick, but not a Great FIlm by any stretch of the imagination. However, it does't desee all the Hatred it gets heaped upon it.

Very similar to what is done in the real world. In a way, they were copying the stupidity that goes around in our world.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
6/10 because it had fun characters, some humor that hit for me, decent action, and an interesting visual style.
imo

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
6/10 for theatrical edition.
7.5/10 for extended edition.
Just a lot of fun and with a great visual style.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
6.5? Not too good to begin with, but that's like a non-comic book movie 3. It must be terrible.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
7/10.
For a comics flick it was average, but it was still entertaining and had its pros.
Yes, it has a lazy script, a generic villain, and didn't make much sense at times, but this can be said of many other comic book movies, both DC and Marvel. (What Marvel films usually have that Suicide Squad lacks is good editing.)
And there were things that Suicide Squad did right - Amanda Waller, Deadshot and Harley Quinn were portrayed well, the dynamics between the squad members felt true, the costumes and the soundtrack were great, and most importantly, despite its flaws, it was fun to watch.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I haven't rated it on IMDB, but would probably end up giving it a 3 or 4 if I did.
Here are some of the reasons why I didn't like the film:
-I didn't enjoy the attempt at humanizing the villains. It felt like they wanted to give the film a dramatic aspect by turning all of them into tragic anti-heroes, which just came off as contrived.
-Margot Robbie's performance as Harley wasn't remotely maniacal enough, it didn't have any panache.
-The Joker was just tossed into the narrative as an afterthought.
-Script mostly focuses on developing the characters of Deadshot and Harley to the detriment of every other character.
-Rote, workmanlike direction by Ayer which was surprising considering some of his past films that I've seen.
-A soundtrack which was clearly devised by some market-testing committee.
-Plot was generic comic-book movie fare.
-Ugly visual palette
There are other reasons I could state but I think these are enough.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
1 and i can go all day with why!! No explanation needed
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
5/10 it was such a disappointment. Main plot suck, poor character development and in this kind of movies at least we receive some good kick ass action scenes, but this was not the case. DC really needs to step up it's game.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I rated it a 4/10, it was very disappointing.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
First I was going to give it 10/10, then I realized it was due to that I saw trailer of fast8 same day. So I gave it 8/10 but going to change it to 7/10.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
i watched the extended edition only and i think i will go with a 7/10. I'm not too picky with super hero flicks so i think it did a fairly good job for its genre.
well i was one of the few that saw the trailer and saw the fail incoming from miles away, had 0 expectations of it, my hype meter was like 1/10 for this movie and i was actually pleasantly surprised.
unlike the other people who saw the trailer and went *beep* about it that this movie will eat marvel alone. i can understand their disappointment and their abysmal ratings.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
3/10 Worse than BvS, just all in all a terrible movie. Joel Kinnaman is good though, but doesn't redeem the cringeworthy spectacle.

This makes Green Lantern look like a masterpiece.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
You're absolutely right!
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
A short way through watching it - firstly fantasy appeals to me. Secondly Viola Davies has some great lines in it and Amanda is smart despite not being thought of as so. Thirdly, and this is unrelated really, I just love Margo Robbie's outrageous look in it. I am not a male am a middle aged straight woman - it's good to see the ladies dishing some *beep* out instead of the other way round! Finally, it's the films, if you are a fan of the originals, comics etc then you are going to be disappointed. If you like however a bit of escapism and in some places laughs then watch it. By the way I normally watch serious drama like Still Alice etc.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I gave it 7
yes , it's entertaining and amusing
but with no logic and point
let's face it: for instance what was hq really doing? what was her special ability that would help a group of people facing that witch? nothing! her presence was pointless you can find other pointless characters and events on film , so it think 7 is enough and a little generous.
thanks

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
This shows how objective the rating system is. I consider anything over 5 positive, and would expect a 7 to be a pretty good movie.
I give it a 2, because I've seen worse movies, but not many. I would never purposely watch this again, and would recommend everyone else to skip it.
Thor 2-Attack of the Clones-The 5th Element the trifecta of bad movies.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
7. Honestly, I agree with most people when they say it's a BAD movie. It jumps around a lot, some things don't make much sense either and some of the lines make me cringe. But in other ways it's just fun. All of the characters are interesting, and most of the scenes are well done. It's not even good like Transformers can be good with fun action. Very hard to describe but for as much that's wrong with it, somehow it's still likable.

Agree. Gave it a 7 as well.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
4/10
Because it has terrible pacing, non-sensical plot, annoying dialogues for the most part, Harley is insufferable and slutty and this is one of the worst versions of the Joker ever made.
Oh, and the pop songs really started to get on my nerves.
I like the concepts behind Diablo, Katana and Croc, and I liked seeing Affleck again, but they did not get enough space and they could not save the movie.

3 stars because I felt bad for those that made it.
Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?

Only just saw it a couple of days ago.
I genuinely assumed all the hate was simply people jumping on a hate bandwagon. Possibly because the film wasn't the masterpiece they wanted or an effect due to the bad vibes Batman V Superman had.
I was very sad to admit that I wasn't a fan, at all. I realised this as soon as the film really got going.
At first I thought it was due to jarring editing that was offsetting the tone of the original film. That there may have been a good film underneath. But as soon as the plot found its footing and really began, it was pretty obvious that this wasn't the case. I couldn't get into the characters, I couldn't find anything to grasp onto to get me through it. There was a decent moment in the last third in a bar that gave me something to cling on to. But it was ruined by a special effects mess of a fight towards the end.
I found myself oddly bored, especially considering the amount they were trying to throw at me.
The whole thing about the Joker scenes being cut completely from the film and ruining it doesn't make sense to me. Every time the joker was on screen the film de-railed completely. It felt tacked on, as if it was all shot after and shoved in for the sake of it.
Maybe Jared Leto's Joker could have been good? But none of what I saw in the film really struck me as being cut down and ruined.
Btw. I didn't think Batman V Superman was anywhere near the disaster everyone was claiming it to be. It was a bit of a mess, but it established a cool Batman character and I had characters and ideas I could grasp onto, even as the film began to shoe-horn its way through its muddled plot. The hate for it seemed a little bit unjustified. But I have to admit, Suicide Squad wasn't very good.

Re: what did you guys rate this movie and why?
I rated it a 7 because for about an hour and twenty minutes it was very solid, which is about an hour and fifteen minutes longer than Batman vs. Superman was. I liked the introduction scenes to the various characters, I got a better look at the Batmobile in this movie than in BvS, a lot of the jokes were very clever, and the action was reasonably well done.
I also didn't mind the amount of screen time the Joker got. It seemed just about right given Leto's deliberately over-the-top performance, which wasn't horrible, even if it's the fourth best portrayal on screen. Imagine trying to follow Romero, Nicholson, and Ledger
But it just loses its mojo right around the time the joker's helicopter gets downed, or maybe it's really a few minutes earlier when Amanda Waller becomes a cold-blooded killer of government agents.
I'd probably give it a 6.5 if I could, because it does have some major flaws I won't go into, but I'll round up just because it showed so much more effort than BvS when the expectations were the other way around.
