Victor Mature : Sylvester Stallone…………. …
Re: Sylvester Stallone…………. …
Mature's self-parody as a washed-up Hollywood type in the 1966 Peter Sellers movie (can't remember the name) is a hoot.
After the Fox.

I don't know about calling him the Stallone of his era, though...
"WHY DIDN'T YOU STARVE FIRST?!" - Humphrey Bogart, 'Dead End' (1937)
Re: Sylvester Stallone…………. …
Not a "Stallone" of his era. The idea is borderline insulting. Two different "dark" men, two different styles with two different ranges. Let Stallone do a few Biblical epics, musicals with Betty Grable or Rita Hayworth, a war drama or two, and a romance comedy and then I'll reconsider even comparing the two.

Sylvester Stallone…………. …
Shirt-off physical roles and I believe even a boxing movie early on for Victor, and he aged more gracefully and was slightly better playing parts for aging actors. Stallone can do mature roles ("Cop Land") and should look to Victor on how to age with cool.
For example, Victor in "Safari" (1956) just a cool aging leading man, not taking himself too seriously, but just gracefully aging.
