Doctor Strange : The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

Dormmamu gets tired of killing Strange, but Strange doesn't get tired of being killed?

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

1. He's not a god.

2. He wasn't getting tired of killing Strange, he was being driven insane by the fact that time kept looping back to that on moment ove and over again. Dormammu would have been trapped in that endless loop for all time unless Strange released him.

Uhm yes Dormmamu is a god. Not a contemporary god as we know of. Most mystical immortals are also gods, such as the Vishanti, Cytorrak etc.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

I'm sure Strange got very, very tired of being killed.

But he set up the spell to loop automatically so that all he would have to do was ride it out until Dormammu got frustrated with the limitations put on him.

I dunnomaybe Dormammu had dinner on the stove and was getting really hangry

There's also a key thematic aspect in play there: Strange was shown as egotistical, arrogant, and selfish, and now he was willing to die over and over again for eternity in order to save Earth.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

Strange could have ended it whenever he wanted. There is an important psychogical difference.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

Just tossing out an idea. Strange cast the spell so could he make it impossible for him to end it unless Dormmamu agreed to the bargain

This is magic who knows how it works

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

That's pretty much exactly what he did. "Take your Zealots, leave Earth in peace. Do it, and I'll break the loop."

I think that's exactly why Dormmamu gets so desperate. Imagine you're a god who can live forever, see all kinds of stuff and do whatever you want. Now you're stuck in a time loop and can't get out and do your godly stuff. You'd be mad too!

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

Look at old testament god, he got tired after 6 days of creation, he also rained sulfer cause he got tired of gays in sodom and then he flooded earth cause he got tired of some more stuff, sooooooooo kinda negates your argument.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

I disagree. I think that the OP's argument still stands. A God should outlast a human when it comes to who gets tired first.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

Even if that's true, it's irrelevant.

Strange could have been exhausted to the point of insanity and still let the loop continue. It wasn't taking any effort on his part to keep the loop going. All he had to do was decide that the only way the loop would end was if Dormammu ceded.

Dormammu for his part was dealing with the concept of time for what may have been the first time, and it trapped and limited him. Might even have scared him.

Under the circumstances, there's really no way Dormammu wouldn't be the one to give in, especially since giving in just meant calming down long enough to ask Strange what his bargain was.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

This gets into how do you define just what is God. How do define God? What traits would God have? ETC ETC

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

It wasn't so much getting tired it was what Strange said after a while: "You're my prisoner". I'd imagine, as a God, it would suck to be held prisoner by a human.

Re: The idea that a GOD would get tired sooner than a HUMAN

My thought was that the time resets for both of them but Dormmamau is aware that it gets reset over and over again but Strange may not so he does not actually remember being killed before.
