Westworld : MIB's story to Teddy

What do you think about the story MIB told to Teddy while he was tied up ?

What clues did you get from it ?

I am assuming this sounds more like his wife who committed suicide is Logan's sisters and he did actually marry her and maybe take over the company and became the rich titan that he is.

Were you able to gather any other insights from his story ?

Well MIB said in a previous episode he's been coming to the park for 30 years. Now we know he was also married 30 years ago. We also know William came to the park the first time just before he was supposed to marry Logan's sister.

MiB is not William 30 years later. No way he keeps coming back to the park so he can rape Delores over and over again.

He never raped Dolores that we know of.

There was never a scene where the MiB raped Delores. He took her into the barn, then slammed the door. Nothing - from what we've seen - implies the MiB raped her or anyone else.

Perhaps he only scalped her.

It heavily implies rape. But we all know better now. You can't tell me the first time you saw that scene you didn't think rape.

It is stupid to think it now. But when we, the viewers, very first meet him, there is absolutely the intention of making us think he is going to rape her.

Yes, I agree, MIB is not there to kill and rape but upon first viewing, you don't know that.

Remember when she found a gun in the barn in the hay? Maybe he put that there for her and was showing her.

Right. That's never once happened.

He didn't went bad before after his wife's death. When she died, he wanted to see what it felt like to kill someone, and killed Maeve and her daughter. He probably didn't start dragging Dolores into the barn before that. For all we know he may even have done it just once, even if he has witness the scenes many times. Usually it is her father's killer who drags her into the barn. Ed Harris is breaking Teddy's and Dolores' loop by taking the place of the guy who normally rapes her. Neither Dolores or Teddy seems to remember the host who have raped her for 30 years, but they do remember the newcomer.

The MiB heavily implies he owns not just Westworld, but other parks just like it. However, he also told both Teddy and Lawrence (earlier in the prison carriage ride) that one of his goals in finding Arnold's Maze was to help set them free. Doesn't this go against his corporation's need to keep the Hosts from becoming self-aware?

Didnt the MiB say he tried to help Arnold destroy Westworld?

And failed?

It's kinda clear Dolores is retracing her steps when she met William and when they both were on their mission to destroy Westworld, as Arnold wanted her to do

That Maeve first started unravelling 1 year before the current events, due to a major traumatic event brought on by a guest.
It took her just 1 year to once again come to the brink of consciousness.


There are those that say that Dolores was first on the brink of consciousness 30 years ago. Would it really take her 30 years to be back at that same point, when it took Maeve only 1?

how long did it take Dolores former father? to gain consciousness?
