Anthony Jeselnik : Way to formulaic

Way to formulaic

Sets the premise, gives a little misdirection, PUNCHLINE.

Talks about his own act for a few minutes

Sets the premise, gives a little misdirection, PUNCHLINE

Repeat.

Some nice jokes in there but I didn't think there was enough rhythm to carry a 1 hour session, which may be why he talks to the crowd.

Re: Way to formulaic

and your post was way "too" formulaic in its execution as well...

bad grammar
sets up unwanted opinion
talks about bull****

thank god you didn't repeat

some nice- nope... nothing nice... which may be why you suck

Re: Way to formulaic

It's a fair point though, after a while it gets pretty easy to predict the punchlines.

I love it when amateurs critique professionals. It's so adorable. I bet the OP tells 5 star chefs their food is too formulaic as well.

Re: Way to formulaic

You nailed it. He tells the same joke over and over. He's a hack with a gimmick.

Since your claim isn't even remotely close to being true, you clearly failed to "nail it."

Re: Way to formulaic

"I was doing this seemingly altruistic activity the other day. There was sunshine and puppies and kittens. You really would have liked me while I was doing this. I was making the world a better place. Surprise twist! I was doing it because I'm a sociopath."

Rinse and repeat. It's the same joke every time with different clothing.

Your claim is factually incorrect. You're either extremely unobservant, really dumb or both. I suspect both.

Re: Way to formulaic

In the UK we have Jimmy Carr who does the same, who again is way to structured.
