Same here. Never liked them and never will. People that like this must never have anything else better to do. Can't say you won't fall into it. Like "The Blair Witch Project" was just the biggest premiere trailer hype ever and I fell for it and walked out pissed and even a 5 minute black out during the screening because the movie was made to do that, which was not even scary movie at all. Same goes for "The Conjuring" and it isn't even a found footage.

Yeah, same here. Not that I really hate the genre, but market is overflood with them. I am actually surprised when I see new horror that's NOT found footage, because everything seems to be FF these days.
There are few which work well with the genre, but I always found the (sub)genre limited. Even if I find myself believing that character would run around with camera and film pretty much anything (even during zombie apocalypse), format is still limited.

This film is completely dreadful and should have never made it past the cutting room floor.
Created by a couple of college graduates these types of movies should be banned. Just horrible pan and zoom effects, blurry cross scenes etc. and with no story line and just plain bad acting not to mention the production.

I think "found footage" is probably considered an easy option for inexperienced film makers which is too bad because it has certainly over-saturated the genre with sub-par films (mind you, that can be said of horror in general).
I am wondering something about this Google Glass idea as I have never tried them. Many times in the film we see that the glasses have no connection or there is a "fatal error" message. So what exactly are the glasses recording to? Does the control pad have (enough) memory space for all that footage?

Worst is the movie is really not that bad, it would have been so much better if it would have been shot on a real camera, and drop those stupid camera glasses.
Handheld movies are almost gone, i really really hate that concept too, its plain stupid it should have died with the blair witch project back in 1999.

I really hate watching hand held films or found footage videos although I enjoyed this film, wasn't as bad as I expected. I thought facial recognition was banned from the google glass project.

I happen to appreciate found footage films. If you don't like them, no one forces you to watch them, but saying to do away with them makes no sense since that would only affect the people who enjoy them. It's like saying no animated films should ever be made because you don't like animation. Instead, how about you just don't watch what you don't like and let others watch what they do like?

I hope there aren't people who would want all films to be filmed in the exact same way. It's extremely egocentric to say found footage films should never be made simply because you prefer a different filming style. You can prefer rock music, for example, without demanding that all bands should only make rock music, because other music genres are being recorded at the expense of recording more rock music.

This movie sucked. Handheld/Found Footage works when it works. This one doesnt work. Guys saying they shouldnt be filmed arent gods. They wont make that happen. So what is your post about? People have different tastes. Some even watch pewdiepie and find it funny.

REC was indeed a great film. I also really liked Cloverfield and Chronicle, and Afflicted is my favorite found footage film. None of those films would have been nearly as good without the found footage aspect. Similarly, I thought Avengers was rubbish as well, and Jeruzalem (while I haven't seen it yet) may not be good either. However, one found footage film not being good does not a warrant the statement that no found footage films should ever be made.

found footage- yes, the point is, it is used to make crap movies (budget). it shouldnt be. its a great thing to make a really good movie where you can find yourself in protagonist shoes. most of the cases- its used to cover sh*t with golden paper.

I agree that there's more than "enough of this" complaining about found footage on FF film boards. You don't like it, don't watch it. The predictable complaining is what's annoying, not the genre, which has its good films and bad, like any other.
Every time a FF film is released, a legion of people show up to complain that it's found footage. It's an idiotic waste of time.
