Re: are you ready for some…
your earlier thread said it was the best episode in 14 seasons
so, sam, I assume you were kidding?
that character - and the actor who portrays him - just make me want to vomit!
his "romance" with Jessica Walter was not in the least bit humorous, imo
and, what's with Gibbs calling him "Chief", being his bff, and telling him at the end that he "deserves" all that happiness?
Seriously?!?!
that old f@rt, over-the-hill Lothario is a major pendejo, who doesn't deserve squat!
btw, notice how he told Gibbs "she's taking me to Paris tomorrow"?
he's still sponging off the ladies, apparently
stupid, stupid sub-plot in a cr@ppy episode that could have done without "the Sherlocks"
just an excuse to bring back RJW for his periodic guest appearance paycheck

Re: are you ready for some…
NAS go back and read my signature on that post. Actually it's the same as this one.
my wife and I always watch NCIS together and no matter how bad an episode is, she always has something nice to say about it and never once complains about the show, that's how much she likes it.
however, halfway through this show, she moaned and said "oh god" in disgust and got up and went upstairs, that's how bad this episode was, I never saw any show on TV as bad as this ep, who is writing this sh!t? DAMN this ep pissed me off.

Re: are you ready for some…
Ohhhhhh, I agree with you and your wife! I groaned much earlier and spent half the ep fast forwarding. I'm up watching Netflix to try to wash this stupid ep out of my mind. I think they've resorted to hiring high schoolers as writers now. :(
Re: are you ready for some…
sorry paintedsunset, but I think high schoolers would have done a better job of writing this ep,

Ha! I concede. :) Middle schoolers? Monkeys? Maybe I shouldn't offend the monkeys;)

Re: are you ready for some…
I agree, Nas!! I would have more to add to your comments, but as I wrote to sam, I fast forwarded through at least half the ep. Either high schoolers or frat boys wrote this ep. They're definitely not writing for our demographic. :(
I'll use one of your words:cr@ptastic. It was a cr@ptastrophy. Bummer, too. I was really looking forward to a new ep.

OMGosh, paintedsunset - I forgot the word cr@ptastic!
those scenes between Judith & SR. were beyond cr@ptastic - - they were absolutely, positively cringe-worthy!!
yep, your description "cr@ptastrophy" just about says it all
btw, don't get your hopes up for the next new ep.
next week is Abby-centric, so I'm bettin' it's not gonna' be much better
we're probably gonna' get fed massive doses of the 4 year-old Abby, Abby, Abby

Re: are you ready for some…
Yep, I predict cr@ptastrophy for next week, too. I saw the crossover preview and had to cringe. Abby used to be my one of my favorite characters, but in the past yearsnot. And Vanessa Ferlito is one of the main reasons I DON'T watch NOLA anymore, so there goes my enthusiasm. I'll probably wait till the posts start pouring in and see what the verdict is: watchable? Or not worth the time? :-0

right now I am too upset at losing these boards and missing out on lurking! That upsets me more than senior in a bathtub UGH
Re: are you ready for some…
Sr is the weirdest character ever on tv. I don't know what the writers are thinking. Are supposed to find him a loveable scamp? They missed that by several country blocks and went all the way to insufferable pig.
He can usually be ignored in small doses, but this episode was too much of him and his blundering, blustering, meandering conversations and double entendres. It was so disturbing, it actually took away from the actual case, which wasn't that terrible. At least it was a dead navy officer again.

I absolutely your description of SR., reader!!!
why RJW continues to get his guest appearances on the show "is a puzzlement"
I figure he's doing some serious brown-nosin' with Mark Harmon and/or the writers OR he "has pictures" of somebody!
you ask, "what are the writers thinking?"
well, I think they think they're being funny - and you know how badly those NCIS writers FAIL when it comes to comedy!
personally, I find absolutely nothing humorous or amusing in depicting RJW as SR. - or Jessica Walter as "Judith" - behaving like a couple of embarrassing, cringe-worthy old fools
I'll probably get bashed by someone for saying this, but it reminds me of the stories I read about where the staff at "old folks homes" have a hard time keeping the residents from "boinking" each other in the middle of the night(or, at least, trying to "boink")
from what I gather it is a serious - and not at all funny - problem!
lastly, I found that whole scene where SR. goes to Gibbs to ask "permission" to "woo" his "former lover" beyond ridiculous!
silly! stupid! absurd!
how many synonyms can be used to describe that drek?
'scuse me, I have to go barf now

I hope your stomach feels better now.
The really annoying thing for me is: I've been enjoying this season. I still enjoy watching the new team gel. I'm still on the fence about the new womansee, I blocked her namebut I'm enjoying everyone else. And this episode took so much focus away from what is important to me: the main characters becoming a team and solving navy/marine related crimes. The veered away from all of that to bring back the annoying Sherlocks and the annoying Sr. Blah.

nothing like a good old "barf" to get rid of the poison, reader!

that "new woman" would be Alex Quinn portrayed by Jennifer Esposito
she's the one who looks like she needs to use a hairbrush when she gets out of bed, before she comes in to work; she looks sooo unkempt all the time!
she is definitely forgettable!
somebody on the board suggested that maybe "The Sherlocks" are in the works for a spin-off show
if that's the case, I sure won't be watching!
like you said, they are downright annoying; just a bunch of old f@rts getting in the way of the local LEOs!!
silly premise!
shades of Murder She Wrote, with 4 or 5 old fogies, instead of just 1!!

That is an apt description. Maybe they could do a spinoff for the Hallmark Chanel where Jessica Fletcher still holds court in the most murderous town in New England.
Even after all these years, when I see Jessica Walter I think of crazy obsessed Evelyn in 'Play Misty For Me'. It really was a great directorial debut by Eastwood, and Jessica was scary as hell.
It really saddens me that the last two episodes we are going to have to comment on, while we watch IMDB fade into the sunset, are going to be craptastic and a sh!tfest of bad writing and bad acting.
Well at least it gives us something to talk about.

It is trueit is a problem.
Seriously, I use to deliver medications for an institutional pharmacy to Very High End Senior Citizen's Complexes.
That Hanky Panky went on more then you know.
I could tell you some of the things I saw that I was stunned to see
As I said at a Very EXPENSIVE Retirement Homes that people's families at that time were spending over $4K/month for their loved ones.
(This was the early 1990's so I am sure that price went up)
Also Nas since this place is closing down
I was wondering if SR has not just a Shoe Broker but a Cigar Broker as well
Sorry I could not resist.
Hope to see you on another board somewhere
I joined this one: http://imdb2.freeforums.net/

It was a better showing by RW. I like the way they worked a lot of NCIS into this one with humor. "Probie", and "I'm not a Probie anymore" NCIS version of Tony as a dad,
overall an enjoyable show to watch
