Quite unexpectedly one of my neighbors of many years brought me a Christmas gift. When they first moved here, she was so shy she wouldn't even answer the door for mail. I think she likes that I don't mind her cute little dog using my front yard for deposits.
Everyone loved the gifts I gave them, so that's another gift for me.

I actually feel the same way, I love giving gifts, I just sit back very quietly watching the smiles and laughter on my kids faces when opening their gifts, that's the only gift I want, (and that Ceil, lol)

I got the DVD of season 13 NCIS, Season 4 of "Death in Paradise", and Season 4 of "New Tricks".

phillipds777, that's what I need, season 13, I watched a 2 part episode from season 13-12 "sister city" last Tuesday but they only aired part 1 and left us hanging, now I have to wait for them to show part 2, but by that time, I'll forget what part 1 was about, lol

but it sounds more like the guy who looks like Scatman Crothers who was upset about getting a sweater vest.

I didn't get much physically: a gift card, a movie, some candy, and of course the obligatory cologne. But the greatest thing I got was to see a 4 year old experience the first Christmas she was actually aware of. My wife's daughter fell on some hard times so we took in her family while they get back on their feet. Makes for crowded living conditions but its been so worth it.

I got four new Funko Pops. (With Jack Sparrow among other characters)

6 Agents of SHIELD comic books and two regular Agents of SHIELD books.

A Star Wars T-shirt.

Captain America: Civil War on Blu Ray.

And Gift cards galore.

I gave Minecraft toys to my cousins, a $15 gift card to my brother, and various $25 gift cards to my parents, both of my grandmas, and my aunt and uncle.

I got a new office chair from Hubby. It's AWESOME. And some other stuff.

This year was my 9th making the family calendar, cleverly (I think) captioned photos from across the family, all of the birthdays and anniversaries pre-printed.
The highlight of my Christmas is watching people look through them and the reactions.

New corelle dishes to replace the old chipped square stoneware that are way too heavy, pretty excited about those. A new super warm hoodie, also a knitting book and an electronic gift card to a yarn supply site here in Canada. As my new recent obsession is knitting these were probably the most bees knees gifts I could possibly receive ;) Various other things but those were my highlights.

Mostly though the gift was family time spent, though I'm thinking that I'm starting to get too old to stay up until 4:00 am playing Smarta$$, which if you've never heard of it is a really fun trivia game. I was exhausted for two days afterwards

someone bought me a book, "Uncle John's Bathroom Reader" 538 pages of useless information, like did you know there is pig's blood in cigarette filters? or that there is a sign posted on the front door of the "National Association of telemarketers" that reads "Absolutely NO SOLICITING" no kidding!
I even know what the absolute zero temperature is, minus 459.67 degrees Fahrenheit,
people have said that I am a wealth of USELESS INFORMATION !!! I'm not sure that's a compliment.

As I said a few weeks ago, Grandpa Desertdude ordered a drone for one of his grandson's for Christmas. Once it arrived DD decided he had to have one of his own. So I ordered it from Amazon. Low and behold it never arrived; however, what I didn't realize is that Mrs DD intercepted the UPS delivery, wrapped it up, and put it under the Christmas Tree, without a tag.

When all the presents were distributed, there was still this one unclaimed present under the tree (unmarked of course). Finally the grandkids, one by one wanted to know who the last present belonged to.

My sweet wife replied: "It is your grandfather's present to himself."

now I have what may seem like a really stupid question "Grandpa dd":

don't you track your internet/online orders with a tracking number?
a tracking number would have told you exactly where your package was enroute, and the exact day and time of delivery
if your drone didn't arrive didn't you wonder why?

I always track orders because we have a serious problem down here with thieves boldly walking up to front doors & porches and stealing UPS/FedEx/USPS deliveries right after the delivery person drops it off

I guess what I'm saying is I would never assume "lo and behold it never arrived" without wondering why

but, hey, that's just me

Nas, most things of importance I do track. But the last time I checked my Amazon account it said it was delayed because of storms and might arrive after the expected due date. I forgot to check again. I figured it would arrive eventually, probably in some month not ending in 'er or ry'.

By the time Christmas was rolling around I was more concerned about the Fedex package that was scheduled to be delivered for Mrs DD at the neighbors. Just a hint to everyone, if you plan to have a surprise for your wife delivered to your neighbors, make sure they aren't spending the Holidays in Hawaii before you place the order.

Oh the joys of living in a small town and doing Internet Christmas shopping.

I can think of several others for whom getting laryngitis would be a terrific gift for me - nobody on the board here - but alas none of them seem to have gotten it.

I wondered how your wife was able to buy a concept car. Are you sure she didn't buy you Ceil, the bottled water made by Coca-Cola corporation?

I really wanted that car, when I read the article it said there was zero possibility that it would go into production, however, they said the same thing about the Escalade, that was also a concept car, but apparently people liked it so much, they produced it, every time I visit my family in L.A., every 4th car is an escalade, #exaggeration, so I still have a shot,
maybe I can buy the one they filmed in the movie "Entourage"
