(1).. I was checking out at the super market and saw a magazine that said Mark Harmon to divorce, don't know which one it was, but it was front page, maybe someone else saw it also, I wouldn't make that up.

I don't, I actually like the guy and his character, she's a little senile so I don't pay much attention to her.

"They" may say that all they want to justify believing things that are simply rude gossip or malicious lies. But no, that saying has no truth at all when used figuratively.

Yes, most of the time where there's actual smoke, there will be a literal fire. However, the National Enquirer and its ilk have no smoke, much less fire. What they have is a gullible, happy-to-believe-anything readership; what they have is fog or maybe smog, which they use to create an alternate universe. Publications like the NE make up crap out of thin air and readers lap it up like cream.

It's so upsetting how many people seem to be fine devolving into "post fact" and "fake news" and the like. Then they justify not believing facts in front of them by twisting their beliefs into a pretzel or trying to use alchemy to make lies/falsehoods/mistakes pure and true. News is supposed to be facts reported without constant "I think" by the newscasters, who should be smart, informed, and willing to see the whole picture. Anyone who disputes facts that are unpleasant or in conflict with a personal preference is being willfully ignorant. I class anyone who takes the NE and the like seriously as part of that group. (Note: samnotsob-43670, I do not mean you, unless you are actually one of "them," rather than just posting this so-called headline here to see how members react.)

So I believe that headline about Mark Harmon about as much as I believe that Elvis had an alien baby and Bigfoot was Elizabeth Taylor's 12th husband.

I didn't know what rag it was, it could have been "People" for all I knew, but, not to defend the NE because I know most things they say are just BS, however, I remember reading in the NE that a presidential candidate was caught coming out of a Beverly Hills Hotel with another woman while his wife was home suffering with cancer, I said, now there's a bunch of crap, how low can these people get, that was John Edwards and the story was true, and we all know how that ended up, so every now and then they get it right, so sometimes there is smoke and fire, we just don't know when.
No, I don't take the NE seriously, nor do I take any of those rags seriously, I never buy them, the only time I read them is when there is a lady in front of me searching for coupons, (that takes a while)

Sam, the Harmons have a home near the small town where my late father grew up. Many of my relatives still live nearby. They all have commented about how natural and affectionate the Harmons seem. One never can be sure what will happen, but this headline sounds like yet another NE falsehood. Harmon stars in the country's #1 drama series; it's not a stretch to think this gossip rag would target him.
