Jenna Coleman : Young Jack Harkness in 2013

Young Jack Harkness in 2013

I have heard from a well placed source that 2013 will see the appearance of a young Jack Harkness, setting up the possibility of the characters involvement in the 50th anniversary without it becoming burdened by difficult current Torchwood continuity thanks to its fourth series on Starz.

It makes sense to me. Not only is there the question of John Barrowman being available, but how the hell to reconcile the current Torchwood staus quo with the Who-niverse. As far as setting up a back up plan goes it's a good one, not to mention a pretty neat idea in its own right. Also given Jack's memory loss in later life he wouldn't remember the Doctor the 'first' time they met as The Ninth Doctor, and the Doctor wouldn't remember the 'real' first time they met because it would not happen until he was the Eleventh. And the Moff has proven he can juggle such time lines with River Song.

Apparently it's the same episode that sees the return of Ice Warriors.

Re: Young Jack Harkness in 2013

Possibly a good idea. However they will have to sort the name issue out because Jack Harkness is not his real name, it is the name of the missing WW2 pilot who he took over from.

I got dizzy just reading the OP. Wibbley Wobbley Timey Wimey, I guess.

I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Re: Young Jack Harkness in 2013

I saw all of Children of Earth and Miracle Day. I found it enjoyable, but it'd still be hard to reconcile anything of what happened to modern-day earth with the Doctor Who universe, even if they don't bring any of Torchwood over. Not so much with CoE, but with MD.

NCIS-Is that anything like CSI?
Only if you're dyslexic

I say we just pretend that Miracle Day never happened.

And you give dumb idiots hope as they can look down on you.

The post was made a year and half ago when this type of speculation was going on all the time. You have the benefit of hindsight by posting 5 months after the 50th.
How insightful amd wise you are.

Re: Young Jack Harkness in 2013

Shouldn't this be on a general Dr Who page rather than Jenna's?
