It's terribly unhealthy of course but at the same time cool and sexy. Almost all great actresses were heavy smokers. It was once a sign of class and glamour. Let's hope that this will not take a toll on Rooney's youthful appearance prematurely.

And really cracks me up, so hilarious. Also, Mayim Bialik from the Big Bang theory who is vegan and when her character used to light cigarets to her lab monkey I laughted so hard But then in real life there you have the guy who convinced me to turn vegan (earthlings) and my favorite actress ever consuming organic stuff that is not Kale. Im worried about her health, I wanted her a long happy healthy live full of movies. I was a heavy smoker as an omnivorous, in my late teens I used to smoke 2 packs of 20 during exams, then a few years ago sometimes a pack of the shorter 25, I managed to cut half of that pack a day, then It would be a few puffs of that half. I remember to hate the smell of cigarets on me, my yellow fingers and having to go to the dentist to clean all that yellow. I tried not to buy them, but I would go out in the middle of the night to buy a pack. I tried those vapour cigab68rettes, ugh. Then as a vegetarian, I noticed the anxiety was gone or I had way less more. The first month was difficult, but then I was ok and hated all the smoke of that the guy who moved next door and I had to move, I remember going to visit my mom and asking her to smoke outside lol, buy now she has quit smoking too. Once I tried to do numbers, to see how much I have spent on cigarets, and I got so upset.

Yes Ive seen those pics of Una and Lion before, I knew Rooney smoked during TGWTDT shooting, but just when she was in character. Then I guess it all re-started with Therese. It seems to me she only smokes now whenever she has to shoot? I have never seen a pic of her smoking while she does her errands.

Oh, nice! what do you mean semi-vegan? I mostly used the term vegetarian because my friends hate to word vegan, Im vegan at home, but sometimes when I go out and have no choice, I have some chesse. I have to carry food everywhere.

I think I have read that article before, if the organic certification is corrupted even for food, what else could we expect of the rest. What is sad is that the label organic, make people feel safe and authorities allow that. It is like carrageenan, organic and vegan but linked to cancer.

I'd be almost "full" vegan but two things prevents me from that. In summer I usually eat seafood only with all vegetables and fruit. And turkey meat sometimes in other periods of year. Never liked chicken).

But I still LOVE chocolate ! I'm skinny (65 kg, 143 lbs) for my height (186 cm, 6'1). Everyone says that I have to gain some weight but for some reason it just doesn't work. Even chocolate doesn't help.


Thanks for that Rooney photo. She really looks "Patti Smith" in that one. It would be refreshingly weird to see Rooney misbehaving in studio just once !

LOl, maybe you have the metabolism of Salander. Lucky you! I have to practice sports and watch out what I put in my mouth, but normally I eat very healthy. I love chocolate too and I have to behave whenever i eat.

I used to eat lots of fish, and that is one of the taste I always crave, I try to avoid processed stuff but there is this brand here of fake meats Gardein that has a fake fish that really makes you feel guilty. Also I cut firm or semi-firm tofu like a filet, ad some salt, black pepper, onion and garlic powder, then wrap it with nori, add some flour, and cook it with a little vegan margarine, it really tastes like fish. I havent find yet anything like raw fish. Sometimes my salad taste like tuna when i ad sunflower seeds, tomatoes, garbanzo peas and vinaigrette with lime juice.

That picture must be one of the most accidentally badass shoots.

I love this forum! So much nice banter among friends and Rooney fans. Too bad it's too much of a rarity nowadays in the internet.

So here I am, as cinematographer, watching this performance unfold right in front of me as close as we are now and then on this monitor. The scene overran, as in, the actress kept going and the director didnt call cut. I expected him to because I was hurting. My body was in absolute, abject agony but the reason he didnt cut is the reason why my body couldnt move.

My body just froze; literally seized up. Every pore of my body froze because I couldnt not commit this to film. [Laughs] If I was watching this and then, suddenly, had to move, what an *beep* What an *beep* I, then, would be the *beep* that stopped the world from seeing this amazing performance. Do you know what I mean? Its not just me holding it. Its me going, The world is going to have to watch this performance, and, if I stop it, Im a *beep* My body just seized. Froze.

How great is Rooney Mara? Rooney Maras great. I mean, what can I say? I cant lie to you: shes an incredibly photogenic and incredibly inspiring actress. Shes one of, if not the best, of her era, of her ilk. Every time she walks in the frame, you go, Ah. The world is good again. So, yeah, no shes amazing. And to light, shes incredible. She actually emits light; she exudes light.

Shooting will end today, after some difficulties caused by bad weather. The first shots have been beaten Tuesday in the fortress of San Martino and the underground tunnel. The film is produced by Porchlight Films with Universal, See-Saw and Film4. The project is managed by the Rapa Agency and the Film Commission. The crew of more than 300 people have booked many rooms on the seafront. In the lead role is Rooney Mara, an Oscar nominee for "Millennium - Men Who Hate Women" and "Carol". Any concerns that Mary Magdalene, starring Rooney Mara, will spark controversy among conservative Christians?

Canning: No. We wanted to address the misunderstanding, or idea that Mary Magdalene also was Mary the prostitute. Even the Catholic Church now agrees it is an amalgamation of the two.

Sherman: The film isn't radical and is faithful to the Bible in many ways. Mary was one of few, if not the only, females that went with Jesus Christ to Jerusalem. She was there at the crucifixion and the resurrection. For women of faith, as well as men, it offers a real opportunity to celebrate a woman as part of that story.

Canning: When we were scouting in Jerusalem, we met a 2000Catholic nun who asked us what we were making the film about. When we told her, she said, "Please, don't make her a prostitute." And we said, "We're not, we're not." She said, "Thank you, because she is not here to defend herself."

Joaquin Phoenix plays Jesus in the film, while Chiwetel Ejiofor plays the apostle Peter. Will Ejiofor's casting prompt debate?

Sherman: Color-blind casting is exciting. As producers, we need to be responsible and lead the discussion regarding diversity instead of hiding behind "we're just doing our jobs." Also, we want to capture the ethnicity of the place. The people we've cast and the accents we're using haven't been seen before in terms of stories about Jesus.
