What an idiot I am. I seriously didn't notice. Sorry. But this is a great list and I really like the descriptions
Re: 8 Best Rooney Mara Movie Performances
Thank you ! Ranking of movies is debatable of course but all lists on Taste of Cinema are mostly subjective, anyway.
P.S.
If you want to make some list for ToC be ready to wait. They are usually slow. I made this in August, before film festivals

Thanks a lot for the tip. I really don't know how these things work. But really Wow at having to wait so long.
Re: 8 Best Rooney Mara Movie Performances
Will there be an NY or LA Redcarpet premiere for Lion in a few weeks? And do you think Rooney will attend or do any promotion for the film?
Re: 8 Best Rooney Mara Movie Performances
I'm sure she'll be present at the premieres but I don't know about promotion. It depends on MM filming. Did you hear something (unofficial) about how much more will take ? I think that they are only at the half at this moment.

Do you think PTA know about this ? Is there any chance foryou know. Damn, just thought of it turns me on !
And Roons working with Haneke would be match made in heaven !

Youve talked about being obsessed with directors. Whom would you like to work with?
Do I say? What if they dont want to work with me, itll be embarrassing! There are so many. But Id love to work with Paul Thomas Anderson and Michael Haneke.

Re: Directors
It would be just perfect. I have hope about PTA casting Rooney someday because her close relation with Megan Ellison of Annapurna Pictures,
The interview is great. Its a Q & A version of this David Ehrlich´s epic and instant classic interview of Roons for Time Out NY which is even more amazing. https://www.timeout.com/newyork/movies/rooney-mara-talks-love-wanting-to-be-like-cate-blanchett-and-nailing-her-best-role-yet

Re: Directors
I'd love if he could cast her for his next untitled project about fashion industry set in 1950s London. It would be interesting to see Rooney playing another character from 1950s but completely different from Therese Belivet. Not to mention that she'd had a chance to star opposite her favorite actor. But I don't have much hope about this, it's almost like winning a lottery lol. Anyway, I doubt she'll be available next year, so that's that. But in the future, at least one PTA-Rooney collaboration is high possibility. I see no reason why this wouldn't happen.
And thanks for the interview. Yes, I've read this back then but every Rooney-Ehrlich chat deserves to be read many times.

I didn't read this before. Thanks for sharing. Both PTA and Haneke really need to happen. I think we can add Tarantino too (I remember her wearing a Pulp Fiction t-shirt at one point, So she has to be a fan )

Re: Directors
Thank you! that 4th link is very new to me, she kind of slaps the interviewer twice that is If the translation has been well done.
Re: Directors
Yeah, she did! Also her words on Mia Wasikowska are very sweet, I heard they have the same publicist or something like that.
But my favorite quote ever on Rooney is that one of Spike Jones for that NY Times profile:
She doesnt operate from a place of fear, Jonze says. Shes looking at the whole picture, and wants to figure out how to live her life.
I mean that say a lot about her as person

This is too beautiful.
If I remember correctly Rooney's flashback scenes are not in the ending in the film. So the editing here is wonderful
It's interesting how thei2000r characters in both 'Her' and 'Mary Magadelene' get separated. The tragedy of it all.
Re: This is too beautiful.
It's beautiful
Her would be one of my favorite movies even if Rooney isn't in it but her scenes really elevate this film to something special. Chemistry between them in flashbacks is SO believable.
(I read somewhere that Her is actually loosely based on Spike Jonze's and Sofia Coppola's divorce. Even some outfits that Rooney wears in the movie are similar to Sofia's in real life).

Re: This is too beautiful.
Yes, I heard that too. It makes sense. I think Sofia used him in Lost in Translation as well. The way Giovanni Ribisi speaks in the film you cant help but wonder if he was playing Spike or at least a version of him. I heard somewhere that Scarlett was casted because she looked like Sofia. It's funny how she actually did back then. It's very subtle. The scene where she's walking around Kyoto felt very Sofia to me, Idk, lol. It's funny how Her came out exactly 10 years after Lost in Translation. Both great films.
Re: This is too beautiful.
You're absolutely right about Scarlett and Ribisi. Here is nice article about Lost in Translation/Her correlation:

Re: This is too beautiful.
HER is fantastic and amazing, even though Rooney had somewhat of a small part, the cinematography, and everything, its just amazing.

Re: This is too beautiful.
What I liked about Her was not the plot but the cold palette, the futuristic/realistic vision of the future, and of course thanks to Rooney. I really loved Where the wild things are. And then you see those Jackass movies on his resum and you say what the hey!
Re: This is too beautiful.
Thanks a lot. I hadn't read this before
from the article:
The rumor I've heard is Bill Murray's character Bob Harris is Harrison Ford. And Anna Faris' character is based on Cameron Diaz, who worked with Spike on Being John Malkovich. Apparently he cheated on Sofia with her. Again only rumors.
I had posted this on Her's message board a long time ago. It's probably deleted now.
It's a quote from Michelle Williams which is here on IMDb. (I love reading quotes here, It's fun, lol) Spike dated Michelle fo a while so I wouldn't be surprised if the idea of the letters originally came from her which he used. Again, there's no proof for this, but it does make sense.

Both men write for other peoples love affairs rather than their own (Jonze has written for adverts and music videos, whilst Theodore writes others love letters)

I often dream of quitting acting. Walking away and becoming a laundress or a sous chef or maybe writing other people's love letters for a living.

Thanks, HER is one of my favorite movies of all time. And Im glad Rooney is there because the movie. I mean I like her to choose projects, experiences, not necessarily roles

This is inteb68resting. I can definitely see Ana Faris' character based on Cameron Diaz, although, if I remember, Sofia said in some interview this is not the case and that the inspiration were actually extroverted blonde types from TV. I know about Ford (his face was most prominent on billboards in Tokyo during filming) but inspiration for Bob/Charlotte's relationship was actually Bogart and Bacalls relationship in The Big Sleep. At least that's what Sofia said. Can you imagine in a few years Spike saying that Theodore/Samantha relationship was loosely based on David Bowman/HAL 9000 (lol) ? (in 2010 there is female version of HAL - SAL so there you go ).

It definitely makes sense Of course, we can't be sure but sometimes things look too obvious. In which period they were dating ? Didn't know about this.
