Sense8 : WHY is Wolfgang always jumping shirtless in some club??

hes always naked hopping up and down in some club party thingy, it also looks like a gay club. Is this something normal in Germany? are the clubs usually like this? shirtless men jumping up and down to the music??

Honestly you're right in a way, it's a very 90's-rave thing to do.


I'm guessing the Wachowski's were probably ravers back in the day and never really went to any modern day clubs as adults.

I would simplify it to two things:

1) It's a callback to the "rave scene" early on in Matrix Reloaded. The Wachowskis seem to enjoy stylized party-like celebrations of hopefulness.

2) It characterizes Wolfgang. Perhaps as carefree/confident. I don't think the characterizations in Sense8 are particularly deep personally, but that's my take.

Because I asked them to include it. He looks very good jumping around shirtless and he needed somewhere to do it.

Germans do have a reputation for taking their clothes off
